  • After about 6 months of use and fidgeting, the omega springs broke. At first one side and then the other side. I just bought new springs to replace them as after the emailed Benchmade, they told me they were going to send new ones but didn't.

    The d is on both sides also most pivots go in from the clipside for righties. And this was not a full disassembly

    My osborne mini had zero blade play and a super smooth action. My bugout CF was very stiff and had a little blade play. Hopefully it will break in and get smoother. Adjusting the bugout sucks!

      I see this more and more. Maybe the osbourne is just better made tolerance wise. The green mini osbourne is really tempting

    If you want to risk scratching your blade up do it this way . Or you can do it the correct way . It involves one scale off or loosen the screws to get room . Centering is easy also . Don’t need to hold hands hear . Watch video on that fix ….

      @edcready8894  Před 2 lety

  • @user-xx5zl8dz1v

    Stupid to adjust the pivot. Let the knife break in . Takes like 2 weeks max . And he is BS with the no blade play if you loosen that much . Use blue lock tight .

    • @edcready8894
      @edcready8894  Před 2 lety

      yeah one thing about adjusting the pivot is that you gotta let it break-in first. then it'll be much easier to adjust the pivot.
      As for the blade play, you're right. The reason it didnt have blade play in this video is that the lock stick was causing no side to side play with a lose pivot.
      Once the lock stick disappeared, they knife had blade play with a lose pivot.

  • @Obliticus
    @Obliticus Před 4 lety +3

    If you want to perfectly center your blade, you may try loosening the four body screws furthest forward (the ones the axis lock frame screws into) and slightly bending the scales in the direction you want the blade to move. Then while holding the bend as much as you can, tightening the four screws. It should only take a very slight bend to move it a tiny bit for perfect centering.

  • @theknifeconnection9571

    Also when I put pivot assembly and blade and washers when I put the first washer and blade in I pull the axislock out of the way and use a toothpick or a pick to insert into the pivot hole to line everything up while I shove the pivot through

  • @theknifeconnection9571
    @theknifeconnection9571 Před 3 lety +2

    You're barely touching the blade to check for blade play. Put some damn force n it

    • @edcready8894

      I dont see the need to. I dont put so much lateral force on knife naturally anyway

    just a quick check on blade play topic. When you test the blade play, do you feel the Axis & Pivot screw move slightly if you place your thumb/index finger there instead of holding on the Grivory case itself?
    I try to get the blade drop as accurate possible, but when i test the blade play, it feels ok but when i pinch the pivot scew and axis, i felt there is a slight tiny play...
