- In the video above we look at the history of Volkswagen, which begins in Wolfsburg, Germany, in the year 1937. During the Second World War, Volkswagen produced a huge range of military vehicles for the German war machine, but it was the second half of the 20th Century that saw the company grow into the giant it is today. Cars such as the Beetle, the Polo and the Golf - especially the Golf GTI - are reminders of Germany's automotive might.

So much wrong with this one.
I thought this would be a cool documentary or something. Pity.

you forgot to say nazi vw never made any cars. the car company started making cars after the war and the man running the company was a british major ivan hirst.
Wow...a lazy powerpoint with too many special effects, a bad font and annoying music.
And basically nothing happend from the 70s to 98? Wtf.
I've seen schoolkids doing better slideshows.
Come on, Telegraph! This is rubbish. You're telling us nothing new or interesting. It's just sticking up some facts from Wikipedia along with a few stock photos and some crappy music. Pointless!
What is all this c@@p? bring back Rebecca....
So ridiculous.
Let the channel die at least in dignity
I hate Volkswagen !
