The best thing about this kit, to me, is the fixed proportions and details. Extremis is my favorite look for Iron Man, and thats because I love its stoic, almost monolithic art deco sleekness. It looks like somthing out of Metropolis or The Rocketeer. The Hasbro figure didn't capture any of those vibes. It was so round and bulbous, it looked like a suppository. This is the Extrmis Iron Man I've always wanted.

@@troycasten6742 It's a terrible figure. The one they did back in 2012 was better. I don't get how they did the design a second time and made it significantly worse.
That one is too skinny imo. What is your biggest gripe with the new one. I’m guessing it’s the head sculpt.
@@troycasten6742 It is too skinny. I didn't say it was perfect. But the characteristics of the design are better represented. Better proportions aren't worth anything if the figure is ugly. I outlined my gripes in the comment this reply chain is attached to. I'm not going to repeat myself when everything I have to say is sitting right there.
I'm loving the work of all those 3rd party accessories kit makers. I still need to get the Batman sonic gun and upgraded waldoes for Spiderman.
Can you talk to 6 inch plis and tell them to make a kit for Ultimate Captain America from the same wave, and give him butterfly shoulders

I'm confused. Are we taking apart the Extremis ML, even removing it from the joints just to essentially "build" a new figure with the parts?

It's pretty cool, but for $75 it's a hard pass for me. Total cost is over $100 for the original fig plus this kit and that's before shipping costs. I'd consider a cheaper kit without LEDs, but this cost way too much for anything but the most diehard Tony Stark fans. SHF Iron Man (Men?) cost less than the total price of this Hasbro fig plus the upgrade kit, and you get a much better figure out of the box with a lot more accessories and articulation. If you HAVE to have an Extremis armor Tony I guess this may be worth it to the most dedicated of Marvel Legends fans.
But those SHF are all crappy movie designs. I’d take a half assed comic Iron Man over anything from the MCU.

I don't have this figure in hand but I will because I love do love this design for Tony Stark while inspiring the MCU to have a Iron Man armor brought to life which was so cool to have Robert Downey Jr to play Iron Man from 2008 all the way to 2019, Great video my friend D Amazing because you are definitely another cool person.

So this is a kit that adds to Hasbro's release? Or a whole new figure? And how would that work?
It seems like the arms and legs are the same as the hasbro release, and those can be removed from most marvel legends fairly simply
How in the hell are you supposed to get the arms on without taking a dremel to anything? The holes in the torso are nowhere NEAR big enough

It’s an upgrade kit. You need to buy the og figure to get the arms and legs. It comes with the crotch piece, the abdomen, the chest, the neck and the heads.
