I wouldn’t say “more energy”, rather it’s just more bouncy and smooth, but that’s exactly what was intended, because the ZZZ characters were created for this kind of animation. It wouldn’t suit Genshin, but rather ZZZ. I wonder when it will come out, but for now it's worth at least waiting for the third CBT.

Pure peak animation
It's not animation it's mocap, but the actress is pulling really cartoony moves instead of acting like a normal person.
That's why it gives you a sense of "good animation", real it's just a mocap girl that acts really well as a cartoony girl.
If you notice it a bit you can see that it's a real person doing all the moves instead of using an animation program.

I love the modern use of old school techniques of animation today. From painted backgrounds in puss and boots, to smears in spiderverse and now squash and strech and exaggeration in ZZZ. Im so glad 3d animation is finally take the shape we enjoy and adding on to that. 💜

Squish and stretch animation in 3d products has always been happening, this isn't some revolution and not in the same vein as what Spiderverse came up with lmao. Literally Overwatch is using it.
@@anecro we didn't say it it's revolutionary, but just something fresh to see. With all the animation of today infact. Also overwatch use of squash and stretch is more of overshooting. In very subtle ways. This is something similar in a zippy loney tunes cartoon.

ZZZ cutscenes are actually animated in 60fps as opposed to the standard 30fps in other miHoYo titles.
Higher framerate animation is simply better, as long as you actually use the correct techniques -- instead of people who use the same techniques & principles designed EXPLICITLY for 12-30fps animation (or worse, make low framerate animation and then use an AI upscaler and stupidly use that to say "see high framerate animation bad :D")

Animation principles aren't tied to frame-rate.
@@theSato That's just... not right. Framerate has a ton more effect on animation and motion than just framerate itself, ask any filmmaker or cameraman. And "the same techniques and principles"? much of the techniques at play translate. 60fps animation CAN look good, or it can be useless or unnoticeable, or have significant drawbacks and increases in production time for marginal games.
@@theSato 2D-style animation generally has variable framerate depending on the motion/scene, I assume the game's animation in general will favour 60fps to be in line with the main gameplay with some variable moments for filmic scenes.
Animation techniques are more about how the brain processes moving pictures and action rather than any specific framerate, it's even used in the latest VR helmet products (Apple Vision has mostly black frames in the output to make motion look better without reaching the required FPS to actually render every frame without making you throw up) - the brain fills the gap between static frames to create smooth motion, you need to figure out when that works to your benefit.
I'm in the beta and I'm glad I didn't get sucked into the negative reviews and got to tried it for myself, the vibe and the world is just my style and type.(Music especially)
The main TV complains didn't really bother me(I actually find it entertaining), to some its just fine like in my case. People like different things

The tv was haevily reduced but the very people it was rediced for aren't even willing to give the game a chance... i mean 2 out of the 3 end game modes don't even have it and the third is literally simulated universe.
I'm realy annyoed by how unfairly a lot of ccs treat this game. Especially when the same people complitly forgive every fault wuwa has.

If we compare with genshin and HSR, we can see a very clear difference between the three as ZZZ's animation is more energetic and fun than the other two games, which makes it a lot more interesting
I mean no shit of course the newer game would have better animations and graphics than the previous ones.

The style of game also has a factor - since Genshin is open world exploration, there's more a focus on making the scenery both beautiful and usable, compared to the hack and slash gameplay of HI3rd and what ZZZ looks to be shaping up to be.

Genshin came 4 Years after hi3rd and still way worse. Genshin characters only have any Movement on cutscenes, Before that Its Just Statues talking, and thats really lazy from a billionare game.
HI3 is nowhere near ZZZ's level of animation.
Without a doubt, ZZZ will be a very good game to experience
Animation only. I'm 10 hours in beta, still can't understand why I should play this game. Caverns are boring, battles repetitive, gacha screen deserves better.
Ain’t no way I’m believing ZZZ will be as good on release and beyond. As far I’m seeing they still need to do something unique. Make me as a player want to spend time in the story, gameplay, and endgame to feel worthwhile.

The thumbnail adapted a principle called "Squash and Stretch" from the 12 Principles of Animation, which is usually done with an elastic object that look stretched when it's falling to the ground.
I guess that means this cat is elastic enough to do that. Very nice

What you are seeing that makes you think it looks better than it actually is, is the speed at which everything is happening at once, which gives you a sense that more is "packed into it"

I like how ZZZ has 2 sides of gameplay, similar to Persona 5. One is where you can explore the town map and getting materials, another is where you'll be focus on combat

Simple. Mihoyo simply started their own animation studio(I'm not kidding, they actually have their own animation studio, but mostly for animated shorts and stuff)

@@aethelon4144 Oh i know they have their own anime studio that exist since HI3, mihoyoAnime. But i think they usually focus on drawn animations instead of in-game animations.
A 3D in-game animation that can replicate movements just like a hand-drawn 2D animations and with this kind of fluidity & expressions is really rare imo due to limitations of what 3D animations can do compared to 2D and also a game animation compared to a hand-drawn one.

they have really good weigh on the physics pieces like her pony tails at the end. interesting to see that side combining with the stretchy animation style
IMHO this animation style looks much more cinematic like, I prefer it over genshin and hsr. It literally feels like watching anime, not a video game.
A bit too much movement exageration for my liking, there is very little spacing between movements and also the physics feel quite unnatural since they are way too bouncy.

yeah I've seen one or two people say "here's johnny!" in the comment second and the first time I saw this I couldn't help but think down to the letter that was a reference from the shining at 0:10, it's so clean too.

It looks smooth because theres a rubberhose like quality to the movement. Pause and you can see the models being stretched and contorted.
