I will be teaching you different rhythms and tips you will be able to implement right away
if this is you first time approaching the regional rhythem i would love to teach a little about it before starting
if you're not interested feel free to skip on I would add the time table in the description
the regional rhythem is played today in many groups and was invented by mestre bimba
mestre bimba Manuel dos Reis Machado was a very important figure was born in Salvador in the year 1899
The nickname "Bimba", whose literal meaning was "phallus", came up as a result of a bet between his mother and the midwife during his birth. His mother bet that he was going to be a girl and the midwife bet he would be a boy; after he was delivered, the midwife revealed that he was a boy by pointing between his legs at his bimba.
He started learning capoeira when he was 12 years old
He would later be known as one of the legendary founding fathers of contemporary capoeira because of his implementation of training methods he developed
At 18, Bimba felt that capoeira had lost all its efficacy as a martial art
Bimba was the first to create a method of teaching to help facilitate learning because, until then, capoeira was only learned by watching and participating in the roda. This was the beginning of the development of capoeira regional
In 1928, a new chapter in the history of capoeira began, as well as a change in the way black people were looked upon by the Brazilian society. After a performance at the palace of Bahia's Governor, Juracy Magalhães, Bimba was finally successful in convincing the authorities of the cultural value of capoeira, thus in the 1930s ending its official ban, which had been in effect since 1890.
mestre bimba founded the first capoeira school in 1932, the Academia-escola de Cultura Regional In order to change for the better the reputation of capoeira and its practitioners as devious, stealthy and malicious, Bimba set new standards to the art.
as with his method he also created different berimbau rhythems that will support the students in their training
the heart of this toque is this - dom din dom dom din
as we said in the previous video when playing dom an din the cabaca doesn't touch the stomach
I want you to fell this caidnce for a moment
imagine your self moving to this groove
    dom dim dom dom dim
the full rhythem has a few more buzz sounds to it
2 at the start than comes dom
than only one buzz and dim
this is the first part train only this first
second part also starts with 2 buzz and than dom dom din
    train only this
when you got these 2 add them together
tin tin dom tin din tin tin dom dom din
when listening to mestre bimbas recording you can find some variations you can pepper in to your playing I will show you that in just a moment if youre getting value hit the like button lets see if we can get to 200 likes
the first variation is dom tin dom din dom tin dom dom din
another variation is tin dom dom dom tin dom dom din

Good job man. Good walkthrough. Also, is a stone better than a metal coin for the closed buzz-sound? I use metal coin with sharp edges, and i think it makes harder to do the completely closed buzz sounds with no ring to it (rounded stone shape probably gives more area for contact).

Actually, I've the same doubt about if which dobrao is better for the sound, the metallic or the stone
