- Beautiful old house built in 1900, incredible fireplaces and woodwork along the stairs. Lots of pretty old doors and a cool old key still in the door. Sadly a large housing development is planned in the location of the house. Thanks for watching like and comment and subscribe if you enjoyed! Have some cool ones on the way!

Work some elbow grease, this home could be brought back to life! Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! So sad that it’s going to be demolished. This is why we appreciate you so much Kappy! You’re bringing us beautiful pieces of history before they’re gone forever. Have a great day Kappy and stay safe! You’re the best! 😊
Thank you so much!! I’m very thankful I can preserve these old places on video for future generations! It makes me sad too think how many of these places won’t be around in 10 years!
@Gretchen K. It just shouldn't always be about money. You know? 😟
Here in South Africa, not many abandoned homes would stay that way for long. Too many squatters here by far. The problem is that they wouldn't be maintained either.
@@SeeLionsInTX ....
So true but it is.
I hate how lazy my generation is - too afraid to put any actual work into something. Nobody sees the beauty in the history of the old homes or the future memories these homes could make.
Some TLC and that would be a beautiful home to live in
Agreed was really sad too hear it was slated for new housing developments and demolition! Thank you for watching! :)
@@urbanexploringwithkappy1773 that's what happens when grandkids are left property. It's a shame
The porch is the best! What’s really sad is that in the near future, people will wish they would have preserved this gem and especially the land. Like I’ve always said our farms don’t grow crops they grow houses 😢
I couldn’t agree more! I’d always take having some land over being packed together like sardines in a can lol! Thank you for watching!
@@urbanexploringwithkappy1773 if I had money I’d buy several acres to have privacy
@@marleneppaul me too! With a nice old house right in the middle of it all!

My thoughts ecactly. Like right now down by my friend there's a 2bdrm house made from total pine sitting on 2 acres with a garage and car port that they want $ 25,000.oo cash for . It's out in the country, I would love to buy it but $ 25,000.oo.is something I just do not have never have had that much cash.
@@lindatimmons3675 I wish you could buy it. An investment company will scoop that up in a heartbeat and it’s sad.
Yep Kappy, tear down a grand ole house just to build some No Class, No Style homes. B. S. No way should it be toren down, stay safe Terry. P S regards to Ruby.
The green lamp in the attic looked like an alien wearing a hat and a pink plaid poncho! Such a shame to raze a beautiful house to build some junk. Kappy, another great video.
Imagine the old house was built more solid then those new houses will ever be !
I’m Southern n I’m disgusted by the building n tearing down the homes!!! The descendants don’t care, developers either. County/city officials will be sorry when history is erased!!! Thx Kappy for the preservation!!!
That house holds lots of mysteries! Wow! I believe that there was still a lost room upstairs! It was obvious the room was partitioned in the pink room and then the bathroom wasn't big enough to complete the room. There was some lost space there! Then the steps that went to a separate attic room! The antique shoes, books for 1937 and the glasses! I hate seeing those antiques get left to be destroyed and lost to history! The doorknobs were beautiful. The built-ins and pocket doors! Even the carving on the newel post matched the carving on the front parlor fireplace mantel! A beautiful home, thanks Kappy!
I noticed that too. Weird!
I don't know for sure what a deformed alien would look like but if I had to guess, I'd say it would look like that lamp in the attic. At least from a distance anyway.
Good job on the explore.
No way they can tear down an old house in such good shape. Light fixtures alone are worth enough to put a new roof on it. Surely they are reclaiming doors, trims, floors, staircases, etc.
I hope so too. Surely they aren't in such a hurry that the bring a wrecking ball and bulldozers. But you never know
My home was built in 1901. I've lived here 18 years and I'll be living here when I die. I'm 65 next month; can't care for it like it needs anymore, but I'll live in it until it falls on me, lol.
Sadly they only care about profit. Cheap, uniformed condos will probably be built. Crazy and sad.
@@anniecorbin7998 I am so jealous. These old homes are a dream to me. Cannot get enough of the character and charm. Hope you have many more years living in a beautiful gem.✨✨✨
@@danadelaplante6797 it's a lot of work for an old woman, no man or kids. I know that it needs paint and a roof, but I can't afford to do it.
I have seen subdivisions wherein the old farmstead house is renewed and the subdivision is built around it. A wonderful B&B opportunity!
That home should be the centerpiece of the development. The character and history of the home can't be replaced.
The jars in the safe are where the cash and coin were kept. A lot of depression era folks had a stash of cash in jars like that.
Stunning house with so many treasures...thanks for bringing it back to life if only for a moment. Shame they'll tear such a classic well built house for the alternative 😓. Hope some of the woodwork and other treasures get salvaged....stay safe and cool this summer 🕊️💗
So sad. Even with the water in the basement, it's still beautiful.
Couldn’t agree more! I was shocked when I saw that! Thank you for watching! :)
To sad that someone couldn't buy it and have it moved. That house is very salvageable. In better condition than most that are getting torn down!😢 Thanks for showing this
After watching your vlogs everytime we leave to go somewhere I wonder if we will come back. So My wife and I always make sure sure the house is tidy. We have no one to leave our house too.
Leave it to an organization or a church.
I just love all the real woodwork and open spaces. what a pleasant space to have lived in.! thank you for this pleasant viewing! stay safe.!😊
Me too! Just beautiful! So much extra character in old houses! Thank you for watching! :)
I really hope they remove all of the beautiful wood & doors & chandeliers from this home before bulldozing it. This home is full of usable resources. Look at the door frames! And those staircases! That wooden highchair is beautiful too.
Looks like it was taken care of and kept up until the end. That safe was massive. That last staircase made my legs hurt just to look at it, good thing you are young. Sad it's being torn down, it could be nice again after the cellar is drained. Thanks, Kappy
Much appreciated for watching and the kind words! :)
This house is not really rotting away, as some have commented. It stand in the way of progress. I assume the owners had sump pumps in the basement to keep it dry. Once the electivity was shut off the sumps didn't work. I really hope the stairs, doors, fireplaces and light fixtures were salvaged.
Always say a prayer when you go in one of these abandoned buildings. And I hope that you always tell someone where you are going, and when you will return.
What a beauty this house must have been in it's hey day. I do look forward to your videos. You almost always do not disappoint!
You are too kind! Thank you very much for watching!! :)
looks nice on the outside i love those old cabnets
I really hope before they demolish this beautiful home they strip the things that can be reused and enjoyed instead of just throwing everything away!!!!
Thank you, Kappy! Thank you for memorializing these beautiful properties before they are gone forever. The memories in that house! I’m wondering if the stack of several long narrow boxes in the attic (underneath the glasses you picked up) might be rolls of player piano music. Just curious. The old shoes, glasses, lamp, just all of it is amazing. It would be fun if you would walk up and down the stairs while holding your camera. It’s almost like we are right there with you! Thanks for wilting in the heat of the attic - it is appreciated!!! 🥰
I thought they were piano rolls, too! Those were some old lace up shoes in the same room.
I think they looked like shoeboxes and was urging him to open them! Vintage shoes are beautiful
When trying to pull out pocket doors it may work better if you grip a bit nearer the floor.
Those were definitely 88 note piano rolls for a player piano. We have some like that. Fun to play. Wonder what the titles were?
So beautiful. I miss living in the country. So peaceful. In my minds eye I can imagine it there before corporate greed took over.
Thank you very much for watching! :)
@@urbanexploringwithkappy1773 Hi Kappy, I’ve loved your video’s from the beginning. You’re great at filming, going up missing staircases & all the nooks, crannies & outbuildings. @@ckswat77zz51 thank you so much for being such a loyal subscriber! Really means a lot too me that people enjoy these videos too!
Such a pleasure to wake up on a Saturday morning. Enjoy your day Kappy 😊
Beautiful house! I loved the kitchen built-in cabinets, the old hardware, the woodwork along the stairs and the door frames. I had to laugh at the green lamp stored at the top of the narrow staircase...I thought it was a face until I realized that the "eyes" were the empty spaces created by the handles! Lol. I wonder if the pink room and the upstairs bathroom were at one time connected. It seems to me that it should have been one larger room.
I would have liked to look at that old magazine from 1929.
I wonder how the basement got flooded like that. I hope they aren't putting a new development in a flood-zone.
Such a shame that this house will be destroyed, since it is still structurally sound.
Thanks for the tour, Kappy! As usual, you did an awesome job!
I would guess the owners had sump pumps in the basement. When the electricity was shut off, the pumps no longer drained out the water.
It's a shame this old home is being torn down, us pretty good bones, the outside is so beautiful. Alot of stuff just left behind. Thank you Kappy for sharing this home with us. It felt inside to me.❤️😪❤️
High chair in pink room waz cool lot of windows in house to bad no one want live in house pretty good shape
Nice big house....very large rooms...that how those houses was...they was build to last...👌
Only for greedy developers to destroy for questionable new builds and no character 😓
That looked like an alien lamp up in the attic
I thought that at first until I saw it was shaped like an urn! 🤣
Yes!
I thought the exact same thing! Lol Kinda would’ve been cooler if it was! Thank you for watching! :)
How I dearly love a screened porch.
Thank you for this Saturday morning gem! Loved all the wall paper and the built in kitchen cabinets❤️
I hope they let any antique dealer come thru first, and then let salvagers take some of that woodwork! Love these videos. Make me wish I had a lot of money!
That is one crazy house. 2 floors almost completely empty save a few dishes, an old wooden highchair, and jean jacket. Then the 3rd is stuffed with tons of stuff. Also the odd room that wasn't big enough for much of anything. Miss seeing Ruby. Hope to see her again soon. Thanks for the tour.
I was shocked how packed the upstairs was too! So strange! Thank you very much for watching! Ruby house video coming soon ! :)
Hi Jennifer, thank u for keeping me in your thoughts ❤ lots of the time I have to work while Kappy is out filming but I should be in a few videos coming up :) much love -Ruby 🌞
@@Ruby.0 I understand working. I have to as well. Looking forward to your video time as well. You and Kappy are so good together on video. Your interaction is wonderful. Have a great day.
that house should not be torn down. its honestly in not that bad of shape amd once the basement was pumped if it had water issues could be addressed. the secret room was so cool! it def should be fixed up and sold to someone even if the new development was built alongside it, even though the nicest new house is no match for it in my opnion! the antique shoes amd glasses and vase in the secret room!! just love!
that lamp was so cute up in the attic , also the tiny lamp on the stairs
It would be interesting to know why this gorgeous house was abandoned. If I could I'd buy it!
Land developers made the owners an offer they couldn't refuse. This house is absolutely livable once the basement is drained and the interior is cleaned out.
Wish I could buy it as well! Land developers. Poo!!! Tear down a beautiful home and put up a bunch of worthless houses! Makes me mad as a hornet. They could build around it or something. There's not a price I couldn't refuse to have a home like this!
As the old song goes... They paved paradise and put up a parking lot. I'm telling my age now LOL. Bless everyone!
Those old lace-up shoes were really neat.
I really like this old house, from the beautiful details of the woodwork and kitchen storage to the large, airy rooms with their lovely fireplaces. This house must have really been a showplace in its day.
What a sad indictment on modern realtors and builders, that they cannot see past the detritus of the past occupants' lives to the beauty of this dwelling. They have been hardened their hearts and trained their eyes to see only the value of the land the house occupies and not the house itself.
At the very least, this house's design and dimensions should be copied faithfully by some architect or trained artist. Then its most beautiful elements could be saved to build a copy of the home which would meet present code requirements. This house would be a hit with present day homeowners! I know I'd be fighting to put in the highest bid!
This was a happy home once upon a time, with children's laughter and happy voices ringing. The attic room was a children's playroom, perhaps, as it is still overflowing with long forgotten toys.
The second story rooms have been divided in an odd fashion, speaking to the needs of a quickly growing family. The tiny, angular pink room could easily have been a nursery.
The room with the blue wallpaper had evidently been occupied by a vulture, judging from the amount of excrement on the floor. I'm glad you didn't run into him, Kappy, though it sure sounded like one or two of his relatives were residing in the attic!
What a good idea to try that second staircase! Somebody went to a lot of trouble to stage the relics in that part of the attic. At first glance, that lamp appeared to be a ghostly figure. The neatly arranged boots might speak to the nostalgic feeling of a mother for her departed children, while the carefully placed eyeglasses on the old doily were no doubt left by the hands of a photographer.
At any rate, human interference was definitely at play. I think the careful arrangements of the photographer are not as interesting or as poignant as the dusty child's slate propped up against the chimney. How many lessons were written in childish hand on that slate, I wonder.
Wow! The basement is so tightly made that the water trapped in it is not going to escape without a pump. That moisture will cause enormous damage to the house in time. I guess nobody cares about that now that the house's sentence of death has been passed.
Still, perhaps someone with vision will save some of the treasures before the bulldozers move in and this piece of the past simply disappears.
Thanks to you, Kappy, we can still look at images of this relic and remember its beauty. My deepest gratitude to you for preserving the past so that we can show future generations how lovely life used to be in a more gracious time.
Good on you, Kappy! I can hardly wait to see what's in store!
So sad the memories in this home will be destroyed. So much charm, character, and warmth it once had,and still could-contractors don't care only $$igns matter.🌞✨🌷
Thank you so much for watching and the kind words! I always like too think that maybe I can show my kids someday some of these beautiful houses that may be gone physically but still exist in film! It’s the best I can really do, unless I was a millionaire! Then I’d just want too save them all😅
Well said, I love all of Kappy's homes he videos. He doesn't bother anything and talk alot, the homes just speaks for themselves.❤️
This is one of the prettiest houses I've seen I imagine back when it was occupied they probably had a sump pump in the basement to prevent water building up like that. The lady who owned this kept a tidy house back when she was able everything was put away in a neat way. That attic..Wow what a treasure trove obviously from the metal doll house there was a little girl who lived here at one time. All those antique boots and granny glasses guessing at the beginning there was a Granma who lived here too. I'd say it was still salvageable after having all that water pumped out and refinished. Just a beautiful home. Anna In Ohio
Yeah you’d certainly need too get the sump pump going again, especially being so close too sea level! Thank you very much for watching! :)
@@urbanexploringwithkappy1773 I enjoy your videos very much you always find such interesting old homes. Thank you. Anna In Ohio
Lovely comment. Seems the last occupants were may be the 80's? The dollhouse thought looks like something from the 70's. Great explore.
Omg, so many things you should take...
The kitchen sink, the clawfoot tub, definitely the light fixture hanging by the stairs, the mantles around the fireplaces, some of those doors! (The sink & tub are porcelain & they don't make them like that anymore!)
What a shame it’s going to be torn down! I love the layout of this house!
Ok this has to be my favorite of all time it made me think that generations of the same family lived there. It make me so sad that it is going to be demolished. When you went into that 3rd story room I loved all the different era's of stuff I could have spent all day just going through the old ledgers and boxes of stuff. I must say though I got a weird vibe from the same room you did.
Sad to see the ceilings lowered. I enjoy the wallpaper too Ruby, used to put it on my walls before I got too old, but still love it.
As you say, what a shame! What a charming restaurant that could be, after a chat about zoning laws. There could be a nice apartment upstairs for a family. But no, it will be lost so a developer can throw up some ugly, cheap, $500K shacks. I hope someone has sense enough to at least salvage the woodwork and mantels. Thanks, Kappy! Hi, Ruby! 🌿
Hi Jane :) hope you’re doing well. Thanks for thinking of me - Ruby 💕🌞
A beautiful house, I hate to see it torn down, and the beautiful trees cut down, it'd be nice if Salvage Dogs or someone could remove the hardware and old hanging lights before its torn down. There's not going to be any land left or old homes if the developers keep buying it all. Someday they'll probably build over the cemeteries and CW Battlefields too. Thanks for sharing the sweet old place. I'd love to have the old journal and 36 yearbook that was in the attic. Have a great rest of your week. 😊🌹🌻
Very interesting house. A hallway upstairs!!! That's just crazy but I like it lol. Lots of interesting stuff in it too, not just the beautiful woodwork. I hope someone can salvage the good stuff from here.

This is a beauty. What a shame no one would take it on. I hate to think it is set to be destroyed so they can build the new garbage. Nothing built could compare to the old craftmanship put into this house. Excellent share.
Thanks for sharing this one with us Kappy! A beautiful home and still in good condition! Loved the entrance way light and there was something heart catching about the key still in the front door. Too bad the developer wasn't required to restore this and include it in the new neighborhood!
Another one that had to be so cool in it’s original days- you can see how wonderful it once was , before it getting chopped & modified over the years.. I cringe almost every time I see paneling.. can’t help it. Lol, Thanks for your posts! We look forward to them all week! 😊
Too kind! Thank you very much for watching! :)
Restoring the old house and building the new homes around it would would add a lot of character, visual interest and variety to the new neighborhood as well as preserving a piece of local history, but that will never happen because it's always about cramming as many new homes onto the property as possible and maximizing profits.
I love your videos! Honestly, I just sit back and smoke a nice bowl and zone into your narrative. Creepy, suspenseful, informative. You got me hooked.

Sad to see this be torn down to make way for more cookie cutter houses .This old home has more style and character than you will see in houses built today . They should give the home away for free to be moved and put on a new foundation rather than be torn down . Just love the wood work and the front porch and the big open rooms . What a shame to tear down that nice house in that quiet area. Lots of valuables left behind. When they turned off the power there was probably a sump pump in the basement that no longer pumped that water out... again, what a shame. Thanks for filming it.
Quite an old home. Memories abound everywhere. Being torn down seems a shame, but it happens
Looks nice on the outside thanks 😊
I kept wondering what was wrong with that house, it seemed in really good condition. And then you showed us the basement. There you go.
