    In total we have dug *12375.794 meters* below the surface. There maybe somethings off, please reply if so. The bold are the measurements in meters and one centimeter.
    0:16 graves are dug *1.8288 meters* deep.
    2:24 Olympic pools are *3.048 meters* deep
    0:31 Nile Crocodiles burrow *11.8872 meters* deep.
    0:34 The Paris catacombs are *19.812 meters* deep
    0:41 The ancient city of Derinkuyu is *85.0392 meters* deep below turkey.
    0:48 The Greenbrier Nuclear Bunker in West Virginia is *218.846 meters* underground to keep congress safe in case of emergency.
    1:03 If the Eiffel Tower was Buried to the tip it would be *324.0024 meters* underground.
    1:10 The Woodingdean well is *391.668 meters* deep, the deepest hole that humans dug by hand.
    1:19 33 Chilean miners were trapped in a gold mine for 2 months in 2010 *701.04 meters* underground.
    1:26 The Burj Khalifa would be *829.6656 meters* below the surface.
    1:30 I the deepest know point of a cave is in Krubera Cave, in Georgia is *2196.998 meters* deep.
    1:39 Switzerland's Gotthard Base Tunnel is the deepest railway tunnel, *2300.021 meters* deep.
    1:44 Mponeng in South Africa is the world's deepest gold mine, *3962.4 meters* deep.
    1:51 The Kola Superdeep bore hole is only *22.86 centimeters* wide. The Russian scientists have been digging it since 1970.
    2:15 Now passing the deepest part of the ocean, the bottom is too hot *(356 °F=180°C)* which is too hot to dig further. *12262.104 meters* deep.
    2:20 In 2012 Exxon completed the Z-44 Chayvo Well. It is now the deepest oil well humans have dug, *12375.794 meters* deep.
    2:31 It would still take *18,288 meters* to reach the end of the crust.
    2:40 And another *6 Million meters* to reach the center of the Earth.

      When it comes down to it, the imperial system is not organized in any way. With the metric system, I can just multiply or divide by 10 and get an instant conversion. With the imperial system I have to google a conversion chart and use a calculator.
      If I'm honest, I'm so used to feet, inches, and miles at this point in my life that It would be hard to switch. But I wish I was forced to consistently use the metric system at a young age.

      Although your comment uses stereotypes, is harsh, crude, ethnophobic and ablest, I agree. I do believe it would would be a good change if the United States converted to the metric system. Even though metric is taught, people still don't understand the proportionality between different units (they don't get a good sense for the measurements.) This is also bad because a lot of the STEM field based jobs use metric. But, the problem of converting from imperial to metric is that this would affect the economy negatively.
      P.S. I'm from the United States (this was not meant to be passive aggressive.)

      American system is better for every day life since a foot/inch is a distance easier to envision as opposed to a meter/cm. Metric is better for science and math but not as good for describing things like a persons height, the dimensions of household objects etc. Both systems have pros and cons

    • @luislos70
      @luislos70 Před 6 lety

      ryan rowe the american system is only better for american people. Everywhere in the world we use the metric system just fine for everything, including height, weight, distant, everything, not only for science.

    • @ronaldbronson1285
      @ronaldbronson1285 Před 6 lety

      Luislos70 metric system numbers don't break down human sized objects as well. For example height, a person might be 170 cm metric or 5 foot 8 inches in "put the first man on the moon" units. An inch is an appreciable difference and a foot is the difference between a moderately tall person and a moderately short person (5 foot 2 inches is short, 6 foot 2 inches is tall). In metric the difference between a tall person and a short person is around 30 centimeters. If someone gives you their height in centimeters it is harder to decipher their height than if you were to use standard units because a centimeter is to small for the human scale. For all scientific, mechanical, and otherwise precise purposes 'murica units suck and I don't use them. As someone who uses metric literally every day I think it's a lot better for science but not for everything!
