    You are a battle hardened soldier, the way you defend this country deserves thousand praises. You have set the bar very high for the AAs who would like to relocate to SA. We will use your family and Blantons as a yard stick for people who should settle and build a future with us. Thank you again for choosing SA you could have chosen any other country.

    Totally agree on the education aspect. My daughter, from SA, is studying in New York, and she is often shocked at the level of general knowledge and lack of critical thinking. I could be wrong, but this is her understanding 😊

    • @BlackDoveNYC
      @BlackDoveNYC Před rokem +1

      No not wrong. There has been a systemic plan to dumb down the populace in the U.S. starting with Reagan in the '80s. Republicans understand that if the population was to educated they wouldn't buy the BS they were selling. First things they stopped funding were physical education and music. Two subjects that increase one's ability to think and reason.

    • @iamDavidaRose
      @iamDavidaRose Před rokem +12

      You’re not wrong, I fight people about critical thinking too. The people that run our education system said they wanted a nation full of workers not thinkers and I do see that method working extremely well in the US.

    It's really interesting to hear your perspective of America, because we were always under the perception that America has the money and the jobs and all that, but it's interesting to hear that similar to South Africa, the experience is dependent on economic status. If you have money it's great, if you don't there is still crime and poverty, and poor schooling. Like South Africa is an amazing place to live if you have enough money to live in safe neighbourhoods, afford private schooling and private healthcare, as well as Jojo tanks and solar panels or generators. But if you don't have money, it's really tough. And it's interesting to hear that America is pretty much the same 🤔 I'm sure I read the other day that Chicago has a higher murder rate than Durban?? But like you said, it's not something that's really talked about.

In a few years, I believe the US will be in worse condition. SA is doing good by hooking up with China and Russia, and with plans to form their own currency similar to the Euro, SA may be a power house. I made well over $150k last year, and honestly, it doesn't feel like I made that much. It seems like in the US, we are spending our money on bills and getting out of debt while SA, you don't have to worry about what you spend.

    Glad that you have decided to highlight this strange South African psychosis of negativity.
    My take is that it originates from white South Africans’ anxiety over their place in society and it filters through in our media which black urban elites (myself included) have accepted unquestioningly.
    Travel and interaction with people like yourselves has awoken me to this subtle game being played on our young society.

      I didn't realize Black South Africans took this stuff seriously. Sorry to hear that. Though I guess it's not surprising. I think that this is pervasive across the world outside of Western Europe and the Anglosphere.

      I am a South African and I while heartedly agree with this statement. White South Africans have a crazy amount of paranoia and anxiety and it filters down society because they own the media so the way things are reported is very lopsided.

    Thanks for a positive video of Africa and you are correct on S.A. having higher literacy rates than the U.S. I long for the day when ALL African nations nationalize their resources. A nation's resources should benefit the entire country not simply the individual who owns the land. And for the record, I watched the entire video SOLDIER ......LOL

    I live in LA and $600,000 was a 2 bedroom 1bath ranch. I was at the gun range the other day and some older guys were saying in Malibu they are having a problem with erosion. The filling everything in with rocks and concrete.
    I'm from Kentucky and you can get a remodel house in the hood for under $100,000.
    Prices are going down but now you'll be penalized for having good credit for purchasing a home. They are changing how the finance house's now.

    In terms of the helper situation you saw , in my experience a lot of the older helpers tend to be like grandmothers or aunts to the kids , With me for instance the helper we had when i was a kid even today feels like we are related and she's my gran, and you know how grandmothers are with their grandkids.. they treat them more special than they treat their own kids, lol that helper probably would've even wanted to carry her down the stairs and the kid refused , exactly how grandmothers are with their kids a lot of older helpers are like that with the kids they look after here .

    • @lindazondi3321
      @lindazondi3321 Před rokem +2

      but of course there are also those families that treat their helpers like slaves. Some don't even share crockery with them. Those snobs can easily require helpers to carry their kid's heavy school bag.

    • @kgosiking4228
      @kgosiking4228 Před rokem +3

      @@lindazondi3321 yup there are those too But that happens everywhere around the world too its not a South African unique thing.. . I was speaking on what i have seen mostly from the older helpers from my experience and the families of people i know and how we relate to those helpers today who mostly are like family, for instance there's this other old lady family friend from soweto who told me about some family that lives around where i live in the north that she used to work for , she was treated so well she just wanted to go and see them, said she hadnt seen them in so long, so asked if she remembers the streets and i can drive her there and hopefully they still live there, we found the house , and the kids she looked after "adults now" were so happy to see her the one daughter cried , and now they pay for 1 of her grandkids school .... so i personally just speak on the family like dynamic with our helpers .. as for the bad treatment i cant relate but pretty sure happens everywhere not just in SA

That or fraud. Didn't realize you were from New Orleans. I just gravitated to your accent and the way you carry yourself. Born and raised in NOLA here. We need to collaborate sometimes.
