Sakal bun (or Saghan bhun) phool rahi sarson,
Sakal bun phool rahi.....
Umbva phutay, tesu phulay, koyal bolay daar daar,
Aur gori karat singaar,
Malaniyan gadhwa lay aayin karson,
Sakal bun phool rahi.....
Tarah tarah kay phool lagaaye,
Lay gadhwa haathan mein aaye.
Nijamudin kay darwazay par,
Aawan keh gaye aashaq rung,
Aur beet gaye barson.
Sakal bun phool rahi sarson.
Translation-
The yellow mustard is blooming in every field,
Mango buds are clicking open, other flowers too;
The koyal chirps from branch to branch,
And the maiden tries her make-up,
The gardener-girls have brought bouquets.
Colourful flowers of all kinds,
In hands everyone’s bringing;
But Aashiq-rung (the lover), who had promised to come
To Nizamuddin’s house in spring,
Hasn’t turned up - its been years.

@@ellenoir6723 Thanks. But s student of History , we learnt that Amirr khrursu was the first to develop Hindi language in writing. Sarso the hindi word. Ther is no Islamic literature when we talk about Indian language .Don't bring religion for Amir Khrusu

@@ellenoir6723 Is Sufism Islamic? Sufism is a movement contemporary to Bhakti movement started before Mughal. Why then Basant panchami is observed in Nizamuddin Aulia?? The spirit of Sufism is different. Amir Khrusu's poems depicts the time of Bhakti. Study the time .

Sufism is Esoteric part of Islam very similar thoughts to Bhagati movement of Saints like Kabir ji, Ravidas ji, Sikh Guru ji, Baba Farid ji, Jaidev ji, etc. All of these are in Shri Guru Granth Sahib ji, But there are other famous ones like Rumi who is not please read Dr Coleman Barks book translation of Rumi

I been listening to this song since last 2 days..Not coz of Heeramandi.. not coz of Bhansali..just coz of the beauty of the Kavya..
I had a very very strong feeling that this poetry cannot be born to a heterosexual mind..I read a bit more ..
The poet..Amir Khusrau,composed this poem to cheer Nizamuddin Auliya up,who was devastated coz of his nephew's death* ...It was the day of Vasanta Panchami,he saw women of Avadh(obviously Hindu) wearing yellow clothes,and mustard flowers in their hair buns..giggling,.. celebrating the arrival of beautiful Vasanta..
Amir Khusrau dressed himself up beautifully(!) and wore the mustard flowers in his hair(!!)..and went to Nizamuddin..
When I googled more ,in one place Khusrau calls himself bride of Nizamuddin..
*wait what? Something gay here too??

Presentation of all such type of Kalam in Series Heeramandi are mis presented in such a way as these Rubaiyat or poems were made for dancers in Mughal emperor era. Whereas this beautiful poem n composition was created composed produced by Hazrat Amir Khusro in respect of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya Mahboob e Illahi RA. This Qawali poem has been sung in Chishtia Dargahs since centuries.
RIP NETFLIX INDIA. Very disrespectfull act by them. Indian showbiz industry for sake of popularity n fame crossing all limits. Very shameful act
