I like your answer, “it’s none of our business, we just offer the best service we can”. I’ve worked with too many guys who try and make everything their business, when at the end of the day, we are here to offer a service.
@Chris Davis money just attracts the lazy and entitled ;p
@Chris Davis Pudgy, balding, saggy, unfunny middle-aged men seem to have no shame in using their money to attract young, tight, fit, beautiful women.
I'm with you, Brainwashing Detergent: 🙈🙉🙊 $.

I stumbled on this channel and now I'm hooked. Crazy because I will never set foot on a super yacht. Your perspective is interesting and your professionalism and respect for the owners position is appreciated. You are providing insight to a world I can only imagine and you present interesting information, well done ol' Chap.
If the earth was flat the cats would have pushed everything off the edge by now.
Lol ! , Right you are ;-)
And that, more than anything else, proves that the Earth can NOT be flat.
But the earth is flat to anyone with a flat brain n sadly the world has many flat brain people about
steve thomas, I’d like to see the frost giant that put the ring on it.
@@smkthomas2 "Antarctica is a ring" Such a great example of an answer based on poor knowledge. And one that is so easy to disprove, would have been proven centuries ago if that were true. From any southern hemisphere location (fudge many northern ones as well) simply leave going direct west / east at respective bearing 270 / 90 and then go perfectly straight never changing course and you would run into Antarctica if that were true. Yet that never happens in reality.
Not counting the whole issue with southern pole is at one fixed point .. and yes in southern hemisphere a compass points to south pole as any magnaprobe will show.

all out on the clickbait thumbnail, I love it. gotta play the game, and that sir is how the game is played.

When I was in the Army we once loaded our tanks and other vehicles on a Merchant Marine transport at the port in Beaumont, TX.
Some of us were screened and selected to ride on the boat all the way across to our final destination *with* a full compliment of our standard weaponry - in my case an M16 rifle & an M9 pistol - because we had to go around the cape and all the way up into an undisclosed port in the Middle East. The MM vessel itself was not armed so we were.
Boat was U.S.-flagged and we would have given any pirates "The Full Les Grossman" treatment had any dared come near us.
Once we got near Somalia we went to constant armed watches with night-vision devices and a new-fangled device at the time called a "FLIR".
They selected me because I grew up on the coast of North Carolina and had been on and around boats most of the time since I was 5 years old.
Soldiers who drive and gun tanks tend to make for good boat crew because they generally don't get seasick from all the time inside a moving tank looking through a tiny gunner sight or driver's vision block.
feel free to make these more frequently. lots of fun and always interesting!
also a few questions, pick any:
- does the captain get a better cabin or perks than the rest of the crew besides salary?
- have you ever been in a risky situation at sea? (like engine failure in bad weather or come close to shore, shallow water or something drifting in the water, small ice berg etc)
- do you know how much insurance is for some of these super yachts?
- have you been in any really awkward situations where you accidentally came across or saw the owner and his girls fighting, having sex on deck, or loudly complaining about crew etc
- how do you deal with being responsible 24/7 at sea? How do you get enough or restful sleep especially if you're doing a difficult crossing where someone has to be alert at all times?
- ever had an owner who wanted to steer his own superyacht for a bit? do you show them how everything works?
- weirdest pet animal on a yacht?
I have part 2 coming in a couple of days.
Q: Have you ever experienced owners actually enjoying the crew's company? Like inviting them to dinner, and just, in general, engage with the crew?
Malthe Lund Dahl I have the same question.
During my days skippering large yachts I was often accompanying the owners to clubs, casinos (not really my thing), dinner, or days out investigating sights. This though was limited to times when the owners were aboard alone, once friends and family were on scene things would revert to normal. And, yes, with one of the owners, his mistress was a regular guest, stunning creature.
Well if the owner doesnt Enjoy the crew’s company sometimes we call him Donald trump

Thanks for the video, GREAT as always!! 👍👍
If you’re staying at home you should put out a Q&A video a day. Or at least live stream them. Why not. Easy money for you while at home and we’d all love it 🙏🏼
It's not easy money with the pittance that CZcams pays these days, but if you are an 'influencer' with several million followers it's a different matter of course
This is interesting and your very circumspect, I enjoyed this.

Loved the diplomatic and thought out response to the question regarding 'mistresses' on board.......It would be hard for MI5 to get secrets from you....LOL
Thanks for the vids keep up the good work. Much appreciated
I have been yachting for over 50 years with my parents and I have enjoyed your review . Keep it up
Best thing for all of us at present is for you to produce content.
Thanks for another great Q&A video. I loved the coffee themed opening.
"two pillows" instantly reminded me of the movie "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles"!!! ha ha ha
..... also, nice choice of thumbnail pic :)
Thank you for taking the time to answer my question, I very much appreciated hearing what you had to say. 100% agree that cameras on the crew especially in their compartment areas is very wrong and yes I would think it would cause some hard feelings by the crew and rightly so. Thanks again for the great video and please keep safe and healthy, this covid 19 is terrible and I fear we are just now seeing the trees before the forest.
I like how the crew quarters shrink as the boat gets bigger. Shows the wonderful respect the plutocrat class has for their minions.
I got here from a yacht sinking video & got stuck watching at least 5-6 already & find it very informative & you are doing a great job with questions & answers i'll be watching more as i got time ! Again Thanks Great Vids !
Hey, love your channel :)
Always interesting and a lot more variety than other super yacht vloggers so keep up the great work !!!
I have a haircut story for yiu ... I'm in NZ & we're 5 days into a 4 week (minimum) lockdown. We have gone really early in our infection cycle to try and avoid the terrible things happening in other countries. I was due for a haircut 3 days after our LD started so I got my son to give me my first ever #2 buzz cut on day 1 of the LD & challenged my 3 brothers to do the same 😆
Two of them have upped the ante, both have had #1's and one shaved off his prized beard. Sadly the other one has wimped out.
Be brave ... get the haircut. Go crazy & go cueball even 🎱
Cheers, Dave
Guns on board?
Some folks: YES!!! MY RIGHTS!!!
eSysman: Yeahhhh... no. Correct answer: it’s effing complicated.
Wow!! Thank you for addressing my question!! Look forward to your video!
Superb information. The kind of stuff that us dreamers only wish that we one day could use
Just wondering if you ever have contact with Celebrities or High Profiled individuals in your work? Also do most yacht owners have Bodyguards and do you ever have any interactions with them, maybe your could comment on this. Thanks, love your channel!
Don't know if anyone answered you but yes to all your questions. The people that own or charter these vessels are all high profile and known in some way or another although friends of the principal guest/owner might not always be. Some have bodyguards but not all and they tend to be mostly on their own mission ensuring that they are doing their job but interactions are quite friendly and relaxed with them generally as they are staff of the owners same as we are.
I've been hearing Palma de Mallorca and the balearic islands are a increasingly popular superyacht desination, taking business away from the Cote d'Azur with visits and moorings.
In your opinion, are the balearic islands a better destination? If so, what does the riviera need to step up to remain No. 1?
Great videos as always!
I don't know superyachts or that world, but can tell you that places like Ibiza cater well for very high-net-worth people. There is the infrastructure from ports to fashion brand shops on shore, very high quality dining etc. Ibiza still likes to see itself through a hippy, laid-back place which it is, but can also cater to the top end. Santa Eularia is the richest parish in Spain. The riviera was no1 in the 70s. Nice is nice.
Great work eSysman. A great diversion in these strange times!
Well done mate, well done. We called the mistresses M's, M1 or M2, P2 had no idea.. lol
Is that M1 and M2 in the thumbnail or is that P1 and her girlfriend?
This channel has taught me one thing, there is WAY too many people in this world with way WAY too much money.

Great show...very informative and good choice of questions to answer. Captains on the Bridge ;-)
My wife has always cut my hair, and I love it. Would a professional do a better job? Perhaps, but the quality of the cut isn't really the point - it's convenient and a great way to connect. Take the plunge! :)
How many ex-military personnel do you see working on yachts? And does their previous military training and experience provide advantages over crew who came from a more conventional path?
On my vessel of 9 crew 2 are ex military. We run into them from time to time. From experience these people are the best to work with. They usually have a better work ethic and less drama and used to living and working in close proximity to others. Plus they have better banter.
If I had a choice I would hire more.

From a retired Navy man, the difference between a good haircut and a bad one is about three weeks. Give it a shot if it turns out bad she be very apologetic, ha ha.
I just said this very thing to her! I’ll show her your comment.
Navy Man retired also... that's about right!
That would be my advice also. Always with the strategies heh, heh.
Flat earthers are amazing people - imagine having the gall to claim something that ludicrous in the face of a mountain of evidence to the contrary;-)
My personal belief is they have some kind of mental illness.
You have to work hard to be that stupid. Seriously, think of all of the amazing contortions they have to create to affirm their views.
I enjoy your channel. Excellent job. I'm in the same boat with the haircut! Lol.
First of I can imagine that the first allegiance of any crew member is to the owner in any situation including having his mistress on board and secondly its hard to imagine they would risk having their security unnarmed.
Good Q&A episode.
One query re staffing a super yacht.
How easy is it to find permanent staff for an owner use only yacht as opposed to the more seasonal staffing of a yacht primarily used for charter with the added bonus of tips?
Does the pay structure differ much between private yachts and those on charter?
Keep up the interesting and informative vlogs.
Cheers Bill
Question: Do all yacht owners allow photos to be taken on board by guests? What is the policy for taking photos or videos? Do guests have to sign an NDA while boarding? Thanks. Andrius
Just no social media by agreement.
P1 is in the master cabin with the cleaning lady, P2 is in the engine room with the captain. Happy family!

Sorry my friend you gone have a haircut you have at this moment over 1100 likes. Thanks for your videos.
Can you explain why Octopus have plus value with age when other super yacht lost value with age? It is so strange...
I can't comment on this specifically, but basically it's always a question of supply and demand. Supercars with a long waiting list are frequently sold on for far in excess of their list price. Personally I've seen this first hand on several occasions, back in 1973, I purchased a car in need of attention for £160, if I still had the same car today in the same condition, I could add 3 extra 0 to the price and have a queue willing to buy it.

I think you've said before that you have an engineering type role (sorry if thats wrong). If so have you ever had any major problems/failures onboard a superyacht and how did you overcome them?

Very good details with your answers. Really liked.😎
Great job. Great video!!
A good code for a *Mistress* specially when the Owner’s Wife is on board would be: *BJ1* !!! 😂😂
How about "Red Snapper" or "Round Mouth" as in let's go fishing for some "Round Mouth"???🤣🤣🤣
Sometimes owner's wife is bisexual & enjoys mistress's company like a nice Diamond ring.
Often owners, they find out about their wife's sexual orientation after marrying them.
Either acceptance or conflict follows.
Yes, I've got a question. What about on board, romances? Not, just with the crew.
Thank you. Great vid
Very well done dancing around the question about multiple ladies on the ship, I would not want to answer that question also. I believe that the owner would have his "ducks in a row" and know how to manage this situation well.
On AIS, you can sometimes see that vessel is marked as having "Armed guards aboard". Octopus had that marking on AIS. Would think that type of marking on AIS would be very important while cruising off Somalia while coming out of the Suez, or cruising through the Philipine sea, where Piracy is still a big problem
What is "AIS"?
@@FioraRosa Automatic Identification System which transmits a vessel's location, speed, course, status (at anchor, underway, etc.), vessel type, if they are carrying hazardous cargo, and other relevant details.
Damn that coffee sure looks good!!! The British are more into tea than coffee right?
Such an intelligent exposition! I would hire him for any position.
Interesting -honest-concise- it's nice to catch a channel that's not clickbait bull.
Have you heard of any issues that have occured when you cruises through the Suez canal, like Bribary with Cigarettes, alchohol drink, and cash, just for the guys that transit with the yacht to do their job and lead you through the canal. I have heard of stories of the guys that transit with the yacht bursting in uninvited into the lounge area and try to sell carpets to the owner.
Have you ever encountered freak waves or freak wave holes, and how can you avoid them?
VERY informative and interesting ... THANKS!
your comments about the flat earthers got you a new sub.
Hello sir, hope u r fine
My question is
"if a crew member dies not during shift but during free time outside boat but he is crew families get insurance and all benefits as their was a case when a crew member died as he can not boar the boat during night time and he tied different way to get inside boat lost his footing and got himself killed what happens in such situations plz explain
These legal issues depend HUGELY on the flag country and the choices the owner makes (How to handle/outsource the HR and weither to get insurance).
Some flag countries require some form of insurance, others don't. Some owners are dicks, some owners are good people when it comes to insurance.
It has nothing to do with yachting really: It's just bussiness and you are their employee. Some bosses have more safeguards and insurances than others do. Certainly if you take into account things like flag country of the boats and different regulations.
But the "other case" you list, isn't that black and white. He was supposedly drunk climbing into the boat at night and wasn't insured to do so nor did he comply to any safety instruction.
Dont let her cut your hair!!! I am bald and i shave my beard and head together!! Easy life ;) salam from the middle east...be safe brother.
Love these Q & A's.
Outstanding
Thank you
For those of us who will never experience life aboard a SuperYacht, can you share with us what a "day in the life" of a SuperYacht owner on board is like?
9 am. Wake up and have breakfast in bed.
11 am. Jet ski over poor people.
2 pm. Boink the wife.
3 pm. Call the bank.
4.30 pm. Start drinking.
7 pm. Boink the mistress.
8 pm. Eat canapes from naked girls on a table.
9.30 pm. Brandy and cigars in the jacuzzi.
11 pm. Cocaine from a silver platter.
11.45 pm. watch the crew on CCTV.

We truly enjoy your videos and learn a lot from them. We did an experiment on board a ship recently with different mineral waters, (Volvic, Evian, Acqua Panna) and the ships reverse osmosis water and the ships water won! It tasted the best.
