We're heading out to paddle the Columbia River tomorrow and I'll b e paddling my new Chelan thanks in large part to your videos. Burts adventurous personality make his videos entertaining.
We need to go on another adventure, Bert! It's probably good you postponed Arizona. We had a lot of rain and snow this winter. The Lower Salt River is running at 11,000 cfs right now. It's 9 ½ feet deep. Normal flow to run is about 1,200 cfs. Experts have kayaked it and said it's running like a class 3 or 4 River right now. It's going to be a different river when the water goes down. Up north, we still have a ton of snow.
We've had our kayaks nearly 2 years and have had no problems. We've bump, scraped, and been wind blown into all sorts of rocks. Also our airedales are always with us and their nails are no issue
Thanks so much for the quick response. I was thinking I need about a 250 and this confirms it. I had access to a 230 as I just bought the kayak but it is too short. Happy and safe kayak travels! @@wannago9879
Right on. It's good to see Burt.
That looks like so much fun!! Chewie and Finn weren't ready to be done and tried to sneak off in the kayak on their own, so cute!
Thanks! Yep! They were ready to go without us. LOL
what an awsome trip!!!
What a fun trip! That was a very cool river adventure, I loved the bridge remains in the water

That looks great fun guys 👍 enjoyed watching thanks
Thank you 🤗
When I saw French Creek, I wondered if you were in PA. You’re in my stomping grounds.
We're actually in AZ, but we packed in quite a vacation with this trip. PA was beautiful for us. We hit the perfect weather window on our visit
I totally forgot about Matt losing his shoes! 😂😂😂
We laughed so hard editing that part. Matt said hilarious stuff like, "The mud here is really wet! " 😆

@@heatherbataille2468 that actually sounds like fun! I'll get out there someday!
@@heatherbataille2468 wet mud in a river. Go figure! 🤣😂🤣
Curious how the Chelans hold up if you bump into or scrape any rocks ? Not talking sharp, jagged ones, more the river worn rounded variety. Thanks

@@wannago9879 Thanks for the info !!
What length of paddles works best for you with the wider Chelans?
Matthew is 6'1" and using a 260 length paddle. Heather is 5'4"and using a 240
