We are Marisa and David, Australian/Anglo/Italian expats now living part-time in Chianni Tuscany.
During the Global Pandemic, we decided to buy our Italian dream home, sight unseen and with no prior knowledge of the area! W
We purchased online and now ...here we are!
This is our journey and we are taking you along with us.
TODAY'S VLOG...
We left Cortona (Tuscany) travelling southwards to circumnavigate the beautiful Lago di Trasimeno. We encountered a massive stormfront so raced off to the fabulous town of PANICALE , where the sun returned, then to the western side of the lake and the gorgeous fortress town of CASTIGLIONE DEL LAGO...both fantastic and highly individual.
We ended this perfect and fun day with a wonderful sunset in the company of good friends and a country barbeque...the perfect day!

I finally finished this video. Sometimes I watch them in bits and pieces as I have time. I think I love watching videos of places I've been to as much as seeing new places I've never been. I love re-living the excitement of being there and also seeing it through someone else's perspective. We did not go to Castiglione del Lago and that looks like really great town. I think I need to add that one to my list :D Thanks again for another wonderful travel video.

We happened upon the Palio delle Barche when we visited Passignano sul Trasimeno. It took us a while to figure what was going on!

Beautiful towns, well connected to Rome and Florence , cheap apartments ... think of moving there when retired ...
It’s a gorgeous area which I’ve been travelling to since I was a teenager. A great choice Angelo! 💚🇮🇹🤗🥰
@@talesfromtuscany i think it is really an hidden gem. Prices of apartments are really cheap compared to the apartments in Tuscany. I really can't understand why .
@@angelom.3517 There are a few things to take into consideration. I have family there, so I know it well. Tuscany has always been dearer as it's one of the richest regions in Italy for culture and historical riches as well as it's natural beauty. Umbria is gorgeous but was more rural and it lies within one of the most active earthquake zones. One of my family members lost their home to an earthquake, so that's why I didn't buy there. It's a well-known fact and your home insurances will be dearer there because of that. Many villages have been rebuilt since the last major quake and the homes are beautiful but less expensive because of this. It's always best to know what/where you're looking at for those types of things as they're very important and many foreign buyers forget to study the geographical importance of where a home is. I hope that helps. 🤗☺

I dont have much success with geraniums or hydrangeas, also lavendar. But I try😄we have el nino back & today will be around 32⁰! And we're only in September. Enjoy your Tuscan life. Ciao for now🫶🍷😍

I hear you about the plants...I usually have a very green thumb but this summer was atrocious and they all suffered. I've managed to save quite a few after much TLC and more shade but I'm not looking forward to another extreme summer Downunder...believe me! David has been telling me all about it! @marisaraoul yes well I'm not really a green thumb. Giving it a go with a few plants & some edibles. I've got some holy seems to keep the snails & caterpillars away. I get lots of little lemons & lines growing but then they disappear, drop off I think. The limes are ok at the moment & they take a few months to grow. So I take it you'll be coming back to Sydney for the summer. Maybe I'll have to come down & visit you.😃

Since you own property there…how long can you stay in the country at any given time?
Owning property has nothing to do with the time you can remain in Italy. Almost anyone can own property but your length of stay depends on your country's immigration agreements with Italy and Italian immigration laws. I am an Italian citizen so I can live here, regardless of owning property or not. On the other hand, my husband is subject to tourist laws. You'd need to check your own visitor visas depending what country you come from.🤗☺🥰 Thanks for watching!
