I am so sure that if the any civilian or police officer ever see a driverless Volkswagen Beetle washing himself at the park fountain, they'll be like, "WHAAAAAAAA......?"
If you read the Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo Herbie fandom, you will find that they dressed up some 1962, 1963, 1959 and 1977 Beetles to look like Herbie. That is probably why you saw this 1970 Beetle hood on Herbie.
The Melting WOLF that’s the funky decklid car. that decklid was supposedly put on that car for some sort of license plate trick that was ultimately cut from the movie
