Excellent, provocative, insightful! Connects the dots among falling life expectations and wages, globalization, opioid use, high healthcare costs, loss of labor unions and education levels.

Appreciate the data. But lost me at @27:45 when the solution was to just keep capitalism but reign it in. Why do we want a system that needs to be reined in? Can't we do better? Why does there need to be a constant battle between the tendencies of capitalism toward inequality, monopolization and taking over of government and the forces trying to stop it? Capitalism has always eventually failed. It's not capitalism that has improved standards of living, it's technology.
Free-market capitalism consists of many companies acting on their own for their own benefit, thus there's no overall planning or direction for society.
    Cooperation is better than competition.

If the White Middle Class of the U.S. is being liquidated by the system, then what becomes the new motive of the lower classes?

They gave accurate diagnosis, but their solution is not convincing. Saving "capitalism" from "capitalists" through reform, remains a fair dream. But thanks for lively discussion, anyway.

All of the "measure" of growth can not be on the backs of the working class. Find another way of "measuring" and offer a better way of life for the working class. My resort community is building housing for J-1 seasonal workers. This is not fair. Huge homes sit empty. Gig economy HAS affected us extremely. Teach collective action as a Business Ethics class. Cooperative Unions for small businesses.

If I’m understanding correctly, if people are ending their lives because of not having a certain degree or job, then maybe something needs to change within the race, as to how they are made to feel about themselves.

HR is keeping people out of the workforce and pushing them to suicide.

You should give this book free to all people who should read it but doesn`t have the money for it. Everybody has to understand that people like Trump or Kayne West are better not elected President of the United States.

Lot's of very interesting research. Definitely worth watching. However, I was hoping for better solutions. I hope we are lucky enough to find people who will take this information to the next step. For instance, in the idea of healthcare reform I wanted to hear more about what can be done given that healthcare spending is such a part of the problem. It was said that workers with lower incomes spend too much on healthcare, but how do we go about sensible healthcare reform, such as reducing healthcare expenditure per person, without killing more people? Will putting more money in someone's hand make them less likely to spend it on drugs or alcohol that they are probably already addicted to? Do we increase spending on rehabs? I have heard that they are not very good at accomplishing anything. What about our youngest generation that are not even adults yet that are the least connected of all generations socially?
Can we throw more money at healthcare and expect better or worse results results? This seems like it could easily fill another hour of content. So much despair, but not enough ways to go about alleviating it, or how much that will or will not cost, and who pays for the cost.
