An extraordinary woman. She built some great guitars and could finger pick with the best of em'. She left behind a wonderful legacy. My sympathies to her family. We will miss you Dixie.
I recently discovered Dixie's video of "Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out," which was a pure delight. After revisiting that joyful performance and tutorial, I clicked on her page just to discover that she passed away just over two years ago. Thank you, Dixie, for sharing your music through this medium.
Only found Dixie a while back, and I have loved watching all her videos, she seem ed to truly be in the zone, creating, entertaining and educating, I will miss her wit and inspiration, R.I.P.
Thank you, Dixie. We never met, but you provided valuable insight on instrument building and I thank you for sharing your wealth of information with us. Thank you, and rest in peace.
I too just found her youtube videos. I am very sad to see such a nice and generous person leave us. Thank God for youtube she will live on to share and teach.
Thanks for all of the youtube lessons, Dixie. May the Lord wrap you in his loving arms. Special prayers for grace and perserverence for those who loved you most closely here on earth, that they may feel Gods mercy and know that you are with them still.
I was saving up to go and visit her shop in Oklahoma. So soo sad to hear this. At least her work will not be forgotten. She gave AMAZING insight into how her art was created. How many Luthiers would do the same? I can count them on one hand. Her art and her Techniques will live on in all she inspired. I'm just sad I never got to thank her in person
