- This time on Hamster Kitchen we're going to make a delicious carrot cake topped with a real carrot! Enjoy more tiny hamster food in the Hamster Kitchen mini cooking series : • 🍰 Hamster Kitchen 🍰
Suitable for:
✔Syrian hamsters
✔Dwarf hamsters (half the size, prone to diabetes so not too much milk/apple drops/yoghurt)
✖Rats (can't eat dairy)
✖Mice (can't eat dairy)
✖Guinea pigs (can't eat flour, dairy, vegetable oil or milk/apple drops)
✖Rabbits (can't eat flour, dairy, vegetable oil or milk/apple drops)
If you have any other type of pet, just Google whether each ingredient is safe. e.g. "is flour safe for rats", "is peanut butter safe for rats" etc
⚠ Small parts can be a hazard, it is not recommended that you use miniature tableware to feed your hamster, Vanilla is a professional. Never leave unattended.
⚠ These are special, one-off treats to complement a healthy, balanced diet. Feeding in excess can put your pet's health at risk.The treats in the video are large for entertainment purposes. I have a guinea pig, and I haven't tried this yet, but for guinea pigs:
Instead of flour, use blended oats.
Don't use oil or milk. If you can, use orange juice. ( UNSWEETENED! )
DON'T USE YOGURT! Mix orange juice and the oats, or finely grated or blended carrots for a frosting.
DONT USE APPLE DROPS. Spinach will do just fine! ♥️

I have a guinea pig and I used this recipe for his 2nd birthday but I changed the recipe so my guinea pig could have it if you have a guinea pig you can use this recipe

I used a canning jar lid for a pan.

Carrot
Cut the tip of a carrot and skin it (You can use celery leaves for leaves.)
We were going to make this for my hamster’s 2nd birthday (June 1st 2022), since carrot cake is my all time favourite cake and I wanted him to have some too. However, he developed a lump on his chest about a week and a half ago which got progressively worse. We made the decision to have him put to sleep, so we decided to make him this as a farewell treat. He’s a picky little bugger and only ate certain bits of it, but it’s certainly a memory of him that I’ll never forget.
Also, little tip for anyone else making these: once you’ve grated your carrots, squeeze them tightly over the sink or a bowl. This will get rid of any excess water and will help them bake quicker.
