I now combine glue basting w flat-back stitches. Super fast. Thank you for your dream of a website, your lovely emails & now great videos. New-ish to EPP. Just a few months, but already done a couple large blocks (snowflakes& stars) & 1/2-way through a Hexie bargello table runner. I have MS & arthritis, between sewing & crochet I’ve improved my mobility. Thank you so much for helping to bring hand sewing back in an easy & fun way. Blessed be.

Thank you for sending me the free sample packs - I tried one with glue basting and one with thread basting. I think I'm on #TeamErin - I couldn't get straight lines like Jess when I tried the thread method. The glue seems to work great though. And I'd love to be #TeamJess and use a thimble.. but I can't do that either. This is really fun to do!
I just learned a lot from both of you. I am a new beginner and I love doing handwork. This is what I want to do with my scraps. I like the design/patterns.

After I tried flat back stitching I found it much faster, for me. Same rule of thumb, only take a few threads from either side & the seam won’t bunch.
