What is the process to apply for TN visa for Canadian citizens?

If you are a #Canadian citizen then you can be admitted to the US on a #TNstatus without having an actual TN visa stamp in your passport.
1. You can apply directly at the US Customs and Border Protection.
2. You can apply at pre-clearance stations at major international airports in Canada.
You must present the US Customs and Border Protection officer the following documents:
1. your Canadian passport;
2. a letter from your prospective employer in the United States detailing the dates of your employment in the U.S., the job duties, the purpose of your employment in the US with the US company and, also, your educational qualification.
3. Provide your diploma to the CBP officer or any credential evaluation if applicable.
4. Fees for the TN visa.
The US Customs and Border Protection officer will review your documents
and conduct a interview and make a determination whether to grant you the TN status at the time of the interview.
Another way to apply for the TN visa is for your US prospective employer to submit an application with USCIS for the TN visa on your behalf.
You must bring with you the following documents for the CBP:
1. your Canadian passport
2. the approval notice for form I-129 from USCIS
3. a copy of form I-129
4. all support documents that were submitted with form I-129 USCIS and any applicable fees.

Can i apply for ssn after tn at us consulate Toronto or Ottawa in these covid times? I am a Canadian and will start working remote from Canada till covid. The ssa offices want a 14 dats quarantine, which is not possible in my case and i am trying to avoid it. Thanks for any input, you may be able to provide.
