- US Shocked! Turkish 6th Generation Fighter Jet Is Ready For Action
On February 21, 2024, Kaan conducted its maiden flight. Piloted by test pilot Barbados Demirbas, the fighter took off from the Mürted Airfield Command in North Ankara, flew to an altitude of 8,000 feet and a top speed of 230 knots. After 13 minutes of flight, it landed back at the same airfield and concluded a successful test flight. The test put Turkey among an elite group of nations that have dared and managed to successfully fly a functional fifth-generation fighter jet. Prior to Turkey’s addition, this group only consisted of the US, Russia, and China, the top three world powers all powered by trillion-dollar economies.

The narrator should have mentioned that Turkiye had to purchase the S-400 Triumf when US refused to sell it the Patriot SAM system. But it is better to be free to develop it's own fighter, because the F-35 has been beset by numerous problems, not the least being it's high maintenance cost.
We bpought s400, but now we have our own sam missiles, they are called hisar and siper series. From low altitude abd high altitude series. Now they are capable as 150km range like patriots. Also we produce their radars domestically too, including aesa capability.

The only reason Turkey was not sold the Patriot system was that Turkey demanded the knowhow of its production, something naturally the USA wanted to keep. Similarly Russia did not sell the S-400's knowhow to Turkey either, but still Turkey bought them out of spite!

KAAN completed its first flight on February 21, 2024. The first time is always the most important milestone in fighter jets. Now we continue with dozens more tests until it goes into production. The Turks will do it brilliantly. The target date for series production is 2028.

Among its many features, it will fly and command a fleet with its accompanying drones. This is a feature that is not available in the F35. In short; "It doesn't have much of an advantage over the F35 other than its speed." I don't agree with your statement. In 2028, it will be a much superior aircraft than the F35 "in every sense". I am sure it is a fine plane but isn't WW1 anymore, it will take at least 10 years from the first test flight to the plane entering service so I don't think it makes other nations afraid now. Maybe in 10 years.
As for the F-35 being the worlds most widely used 5th generation fighter, duh, it is the only 5th generation plane being exported so that's a pointless statement.
I also think it is a mistake to compare the planes at the moment, they haven't even decided which engine the final version of the plane will have when it enters service and any specc can change both for the better or for the worse before it goes into production. Every single fighter get some unexpected issues during testing and some things need to change, happened to all the other 5th generation planes and basically all other Jet fighters too, that is why you have a testing period before starting to mass produce them.
I wouldn't be super surprised if it eventually actually have better speccs then what the F-35 have at the moment, the F-35 will be around 20 years old when this plane enters service so that is clearly a possibility and US is likely to be starting testing their 6th generation fighter by then and maybe upgrade the F-35 too.
During WW1 it wasn't uncommon to send some planes to the front a couple of weeks after the first test flight and start mass producing them another month later but planes were about as advanced as a Ford Model T back then and pilots are considered a lot less expendable now as well so while Turkey certainly have worked fast, they have a lot more work to do on this plane.
F35 is already under the sea bed of the Mediterranean sea,South China Sea,Pacific ocean,the sea near Japan and in the mountains on north of South Korea and in the forest of california.Thus we can conclude that the wreckage of F35 can be found in all high seas of the world.
25 aircraft will be delivered by 2028... This is definitive information!!!
@@MuratlaBorsada I'm sure that is the plan, but I can't think of a single fighter jet that didn't get delayed due to something they found out during testing. Usually they crash a plane or 2 as well during that and that isn't me saying bad things about Turkey but something that happens to all countries.
Look on F-35 for instance, it got a huge delay. Same thing with Su-57. Not sure about J-20 since China doesn't like going out and telling people they are working on a new plane.
So yeah, I am expecting delays, just as I expect it from any fighter in development. It is different during a large war when you can ignore that a couple of planes might crash to some issue but that is unacceptable during peace.
This is of course why have a testing phase, not only do you get rid of unexpected problems but you also will do some optimization giving you a better plane in the end.

The parts we produced and delivered for the F 35 and the F35 middle bodies were flawless. Türkiye has proven its engineering skills in the F 16s, which were produced with zero defects.

Every single nation who built a fighter the last 30 years have had delays, the question is more to how long those delays are.
I do applaud you for building your own fighter though, it is expensive but it is a huge strategic advantage to not be relying of foreign powers and when you make it yourself, you can make it fit your own circumstances perfectly instead of getting a generic plane that is a Jack of all trades.

Your click bait title is WRONG. The Turkish fighter is 5th gen. at best and more like 4.5 gen. No stealth coating, no advanced radar, no networked communications, no interactive helmet displays and maybe even no IR sensors.
It will be clear in 2028 whether it exists or not. :)

F22 is in another league. It's an attack fighter jet and has systems for that purpose. F35 is all around jet but mainly for air superiority, not like F22. KAAN is in this league. I don't know Su57 and J20 but they're probably like F35..
