Awesome ! All your videos sounds excellent to my taste, thick, open and naturel. I'm wondering what is the part of the quality of your playing and instruments and what is the part of this AA Six pre (wich interest me) ? I mean for example, how would you compare it to a LA 610 (that i had) or a Tube-tech MP1A ? Thanks a lot !
Oh, that's not an easy question to answer. I've been recording guitars in the studio for a long time and have instruments that work very well in front of a microphone. I also know how to play some things so that it sounds good on the recording. The other side, the technical side, I haven't dealt with that long. But for a few years I've been trying out studio equipment and at some point I came across the Tube Micpres. And since I'm a guitarist who likes tubes and the sounds from the 50s and 60s, I wanted to try them out. I have also made comparison videos with different micpres. I can tell you so much: the AA tube micpre is worth the money and Ian Hall builds really good devices. The AA Six colors more than his REDD micpre.
@@Patrick-Hoss Thank you ! I 'm happy with the preamps i own now, but there is definitely something i can hear that i like with this AA Six. I asked the question to a belgian ingineer and he also said it was good material but very colored, i think it's what i'm looking for acoustic recordings, with lots of overtones as you said...
