Flowing Tears - Merlin live MFVF 2009

Flowing Tears es una banda de metal gótico alemana formada en su origen por Manfred Bersin (voz), Stefanie Duchêne (voz), Cristian Zimmer (bateria) y Frederic Lesny (bajo). Su nombre original era Flowing Tears and Withered Flowers, el cual utilizaron en sus dos primeros lanzamientos: «Swansongs» y «Joy Parade».
Con el lanzamiento de «Serpentine», la banda continuó con el trabajo realizado en «Jade», primer disco de la segunda y actual era de Flowing Tears, pero desdramatizando su sonido y creando un ambiente menos depresivo.Tras el lanzamiento de éste disco la cantante Stefanie Duchêne tuvo que abandonar la formación ya que quedó embarazada y esto le impedia seguir el ritmo de la banda. Actualmente está trabajando en su carrera en solitario. Tras su marcha, se unió a la banda Helen Vogt (2004).
Con un sonido que no se distanciaba demasiado de Serpentine y una cantante cuya voz recordaba mucho a la de Stefanie, llegó «Razorbliss». Siete meses después del lanzamiento de este disco dos de los miembros originales de Flowing Tears, Björn Lorson y Cristian Zimmer, murieron en un accidente de coche.
En 2007 salió al mercado el album «Invanity -- live in Berlin" grabado en 2004 en Passionskirche - Berlin, cuando acompañaron a The Gathering en su tour semi-acoustico. Bajo el nuevo sello con sede en UK «Ascendance Records». Este album muestra una faceta diferente de FLOWING TEARS, recogiendo los temas favoritos de la banda de entre toda su discografía, revisados e interpretados sin guitarras heavy ni ritmicas, centrándose en la profundidad emocional de las composiciones.
Su último disco hasta la fecha es, «Thy Kingdom Gone», siguiendo la línea habitual del grupo en su segunda era, pero indagando en nuevos sonidos e inclinándose claramente a nuevas y diversas tendencias del metal gótico y heavy, e influenciados claramente por grupos que van desde Paradise Lost, Anathema,Tiamat,..., hasta grupos como The Smashing Pumpkins, Iron Maiden, Metallica y Black Sabbath, entre otros.
