  • Part 2 we show off the Rogue 180i TIG capabilities including HF TIG and the 2nd menu. We review the ESAB TIG torch, travel case and go over the menu and some tips for TIG welding with this unit. We do TIG weld with the Rogue with the ESAB TIG torch and show set up. Finally by request, we take the Rogue out with a 150 foot extension cord to push the limits! Also we took note of the questions from part one and did our best to answer them. If we missed something leave us a comment below!

    • ESAB Miniarc Rogue 180...
    This machine did officially replace the Miniarc 161 from ESAB. If you want that set up you would need to purchase the Rogue, Case, TIG torch, and regulator.

    A noisy machine to me means they actually used larger fans for a small machine which is definitely a good thing, just bought one and I love it so far.

    this is a nice little welder .I have a Esab 215 and i use it often, but they are very noisy welders. maybe when your young and not exposed to long term noise, you might not care but you will be deaf in time. I am old but have watched my hearing, ambient noise will damage your ears. i got on to this many years ago and so far my hearing is very good except when my wife calls me. Esab needs to attend to this fan noise , as soon as you strike an arc the fan goes on and continues for 10 min after you stop. Now don't take this as a hater comment I like my esab but compared to my 2 Fronius welders which remain silent till you push them to their duty cycle , the Fronius is just so much quieter.Yes the Fronius 180 is twice the price but it is so much easier on your ears that it is worth considering for long term hearing. I would certainly buy this welder and keep it in my truck for any opportunity that might arise, but would wear ear muffs when using it. Esab does make very good welders , better than most.

      Bruce- thanks for watching! We agree this ESAB unit is a nice option for taking out in the field. Always good to be mindful of ear protection. Fronius unit is 👌👌👌we should be posting a video on that soon! If you have any questions please let us know.

    Great video! Next up should go through the foot petal :). Oh and an FYI, the torch listed in the manual for this machine with the remote is in error by esab. They called me to recall it, hopefully they come out with one capable for it on this machine soon

      Baker's Gas outstanding. I just plugged in my old miller red heads “9v and 17v” with the 50mm dinse I had for my dynasty worked just fine. I was looking forward to an amperage control torch tho

      Baker's Gas FYI I’ve been welding with the pedal for a while now, it did work well for a while but it’s been acting up recently. The arc won’t extinguish when you let the pedal off all the way on mine it’s hit and miss. I think it may be user error on my end or a pedal/welder problem. Thought I’d just update everyone.

    After selling welders for 27 years,...I have some good advice ...If' you want to learn how and continue your' Tig welding path..
    Then don't buy this welder. It doesn't have all the features that a Tig welder wants...And needs to learn how to use.
    It's too limited...Make sure that the Tig welder that you want" Welds AC & DC...For steel and aluminum..Make sure it has a high frequency unit..(lift arc works but sucks compared to high frequency..And make sure it has a foot pedal...I've sold only 2
    Finger controls..and they used them for welding Up high on ladders ,, where foot pedals wouldn't work....

  • @scottmcdonald4571
    @scottmcdonald4571 Před rokem

    Another reason' not to buy this welder...If you want to be a Tig welder..
    If you were to go get a job....they would have a complete Tig welder with a high frequency start & a Foot Pedal..
    And you will need to know how to weld using a pedal and be use to high frequency start .
    So,' Be ready..
    .
