In your five hundred and seventy-two years of life, you’d had many romantic partners. But none of them new your secret, and none were quite like your current girlfriend. The obvious difference was that she was a werewolf. Another big difference was that you loved her, more deeply than any of the others that came before her. She would live nearly as long as you, provided you two didn’t run into any werewolf hunters, and that idea of spending your life with someone, anyone but especially her, was addictive to you.
She was headstrong, and a lot to handle, as were most werewolves. Then again, so were you. You weren’t exactly the easiest vampire to get along with. So you two made a good pair.
On this particular day you were curled up in bed, dozing. While you didn’t need to sleep, rest was still necessary. You were relaxed and comfortable, but when you heard the front door slam shut and your girlfriend’s heavy footsteps as she came up the stairs, you knew you wouldn’t be resting long…
