Nick Saban sounds like a privileged child. You’ve had the best football program in America for the last decade plus and the second you don’t get your way, it’s someone else’s fault or someone cheated. Man miss me with that.

Are we REALLY supposed to believe the most recently successful program in all of college football has NEVER paid even a penny or given anything to any player they've ever recruited? Every single program in the country has done it and will continue doing whatever they can to win. It's simply not possible to create such an athletic monopoly without at least bending one or two rules.

@@dblack9704 Saban’s success developing five-stars compared to the rest of the country is proof. 247Sports examined every draft-eligible 247Sports Composite five-star from 2008 - Saban’s first full recruiting class, which frankly kicked off a new era of recruiting in college football - until the present in an attempt to measure the programs that develop those prospects best.
Alabama has signed 41 draft-eligible five-stars since 2008. Those players were picked in the first-round of the NFL Draft at a 48.8% clip. The other 285 five-stars who didn’t sign with Alabama? They were selected in the first-round at an 18.3% rate. You read that correctly: A five-star who picks Alabama in the Saban era is more than doubly likely on average to be a first-round pick compared to college football as a whole.
It doesn’t stop there. Alabama five-stars have been drafted 75.6% of the time since 2008. Every other draft-eligible five-star in that window was picked at a 63.1% rate.
That’s a staggering gap in development. And it remains the case if you apply 247Sports’ Development Rating formula, which filters out players who were dismissed or transferred after two or fewer years on campus. Remove those players from the equation and 52.6% of the Crimson Tide’s five-stars have been drafted in the 1st round compared to 20.7% nationally.

Now that Emmert is stepping down Saban knows his days are numbered without his buddy protecting him and Bama.
Emmert even met on LSU's behalf with the NCAA, which accepted LSU's findings. But after Emmert decided to leave LSU in 2004, a witness testified in a deposition that the instructor was telling the truth and that the problems were far more systemic than the school admitted, even extending to grades being changed for football players, according to court records.
The culture was "appalling" and "like Romper Room," the employee said in 2004 testimony.
Alabama will be forced to vacate 21 football victories that came under the watch of former coach Mike Shula and current coach Nick Saban, the university said in a release.
The football program, which will not lose future scholarships, and the other 15 teams have been put on three years' probation -- the third probation penalty for university athletics in the past decade. Alabama also was ordered to pay a $43,900 fine.
