Why didn't you make it the entire distance? Not enough daylight? I have two sons as well. What a treat for you do this activity with them. Thanks for sharing.
My son wasn’t feeling well and we were going a lot slower than we expected, we decided to play it safe and not try to push through difficult terrain at nightfall.
