The kernel doesn't actually handle malloc() like described here. malloc() is a userland operation and part of glibc, the kernel is only actually implementing the much simpler scenario of brk().

i use kernel level cheats in online mobile game and its safe both paid and free. first time i use kernel cheat is 2019 maybe . i use cheat called caesar for game for peace aka pubg
technically modified apps are both the easiest and hardest to detect, if it's naively done, it will be detected by simply checking the file signature, but you could also go the other way and only copy needed functions and basically directly interact with the network.
though there's also one shot traps where if the program replies to the server with the wrong answer you get banned (a good example though it's slightly different is in a racing game if you score a 0:00 time, or a time that's shorter than going from the start to finish at max speed))
