- Join me on a Lovely London Canal Walk through Tottenhams Delightful Lea Valley. This Afternoon Sun-filled walk has Professionals zooming past me on their Bikes on this narrow Canal after work. I start my walk at Tottenham Hale before heading down the River Lea to Walthamstow Marshes, while trying to dodge as many Cyclists as possible.
HISTORY/ ABOUT:
Tottenham is a town in North London, England, within the London Borough of Haringey. It is located in the ceremonial county of Greater London. Tottenham is centred 6 mi (10 km) north-northeast of Charing Cross, bordering Edmonton to the north, Walthamstow, across the River Lea, to the east, and Stamford Hill to the south, with Wood Green and Harringay to the west.
The area rapidly expanded in the late-19th century, becoming a working-class suburb of London following the advent of the railway and mass development of housing for the lower-middle and working classes. It has been home to the Premier League football club Tottenham Hotspur since 1882.
FUN FACTS:
- When the Domesday Book was compiled in 1086, about 70 families lived within the area of the manor, mostly labourers working for the Lord of the Manor. A humorous poem entitled the Tournament of Tottenham, written around 1400, describes a mock-battle between peasants vying for the reeve's daughter.
- Tottenham cake is a sponge cake baked in large metal trays, covered either in pink icing or jam (and occasionally decorated with shredded desiccated coconut). Tottenham cake's origins are unclear. There is reference to "tottenham cakes" as early as 1891 when the Far Famed Cake Company are credited as the originators of the confection.
- Tottenham is the home of Premier League football club Tottenham Hotspur

Why do I see people wearing bright yellow/green uniforms?
They are most likely Key Workers, who help run essential public services 😊
I'm surprised that bicycles are legal on tow paths. I mean they scream by you by just inches. What is there to stop someone riding into you, and you going straight into the water with nothing to catch yourself with? Then I see people walking there holding onto kids in their arms? These bicyclists don't even ring a bell. This is not relaxing. This is nerve racking!
This path is quite narrow, I guess you get used to it after a while 😃
@@Londonechoes I can see it now. I begin to twirl on the tow path like in the sound of music only to get clobbered by a bicyclist with me going head first into the canal. "The tow path is alive with the sound of mu..." WHAM! SPLASH! The jerk on the bicycle will be like, "Can't you see I'M RIDING A BIKE HERE!"
The citation for riding bike on path is two mallards owed to the monopoly man
