Guests: David Duchovny, Nicole Sullivan
The first Late Late Show after Craig was selected for the job!
It's amazing how far the show has come. - Komedie
and thus began 10 glorious years of just not giving a *TOOTSIE FRUITSY* !!
Oooh la la
@@fe5018 Whats-ah-comin-ago?
Pre-Geoff Peterson era.
😁
As a sufferer of chronic depression let me tell you: This show is life-saving medicine. To the person behind this channel: you are a humanitarian. Thank you for your kind work.
👍💖
This is exactly why I always come back to this videos. I mean Craig is hilarious and a genius, watching him at night when i had a fucked up sleeping schedule was the highlight of my day and got me through a weird gloomy wave i was driving.
This show feels like home 💜
It was made by a guy who suffers chronić depression too i believe
agreed. This is my background music at home. Such a pressure valve.
Agreed
"You will never see a sidekick on this show."

And so the legend began .......
human meat ? rofll lol
It's impressive how good he was from the beginning. Usually even the great hosts were awkward at first.
God i miss Craig Fergusons show's he was so down to earth and real.
he was the best. i hope he comes back to TV one day....maybe with Geoff
@farmerbob96 i think Craig would be a little honored
This man STARTED his tenure on TLLS as a legend. Other late night hosts were rattled and fidgety for years when they first got their desks, but this man was just crushing out the gate. Good lord, what a role model for budding performers.
This is awesome. His accent sounds stronger here.
Doesn't feel like a first show at all. Most premieres are really awkward. He was off and running from day 1.
Because he's TOOTSIE FRUITSIE Craig ferguson lol
It would've been great if Tom Cruise was the final guest on the show 10 years later.
haha
a perfect callback :")) ♥
Yes but elves don't like basements 🤣
I can imagine the intro of the interview
"Welcome to the show Tom!
Are your feet touching the floor? You know, we've always had a stool in case you were on the show"
1962 will creek you out of steve carell
When I saw it, I thought the final guest on the show mayve been a little dig at Worldwide Pants/CBS.
I love that he makes himself laugh. I'm also happy to see when people can actually react to Craig.
"You will never see a sidekick on this show." HA
he probably meant a real sidekick, not a gay robot skeleton
He was always very honest and gracious about having to eat his words on that score.
@@fe5018 Yeah, he's been forgiven. Especially by those who got to see the idea of Geoff come to fruition! Craig is a creative genius!
yeah, but Geoff was never just any sidekick. their chemistry was on point and we were all the better for it
@@jbug13158 So is the guy who built Geoff.
You can tell this is more scripted than later shows, but most of the funny bits are the improvised pieces. They did right to just let him do his stuff.
YESSS IM BING WATCHING EVERY CRAIG FERGUSON RELATED THING THAT EXISTS ON THE INTERNET
I'd love to see the entire 10 years all over again!
I only started watching him a few months ago. Never realised how funny he is. And brilliant with his guests. I am now hooked and watch him every chance i get now on here.
Well he quit the show December 2014 after doing it for 10 years. It's very sad since when it was Craig, it was the only unscripted, true comedy talk show. He spoke his mind and whatever the hell he wanted to. He was just generally funny and loved to get the audience and his camera crew involved.
I didn't begin watching Craig until about 2010. It's amazing how much he developed the show and became the wild man we all know and love.
He seems way less nervous than Conan was
Conan wasn’t a performer when he started
@@TotallyOKAYProductions Also Craig had hosted several episodes already. Kilborn quit unexpectedly and for months multiple guest hosts filled in until CBS found a replacement. Ferguson and a few others hosted for an entire week, each, to audition. Craig Ferguson was chosen because of this and Peter Lassally's recommendation.
I knew Conan was going to be just fine the second night. After the incredible build-up to and the highly watched premiere, he walked out beginning of the second show and said "Nobody told me I had to do this again...." Just killed me.
You can tell he is a little nervous though in these early episodes.
You are a fucking hero for uploading all of these. Keep em coming, please. :)
+Iftheysayagame'sname They'llplaythatgame Thx baby
The Late Late Show for me, started on January 3, 2005 and ended on December 19, 2014. I don't care about Craig Kilborn and James Corden, they're both fucking fake! Craig Ferguson is the man who brought an amusing show to life and he could have been the host for 30 more years, and you know why? Because he was his real self every night, he would make jokes , he would talk about his thoughts and opinions when he was concerned, he would also talk about his life, the alcoholism, the relationship with his parents and their passing just because he wanted to be Craig Ferguson and not pretend to be someone else, to be honest with the people who are watching him. Nobody can disagree that he is, because he still is for me an outstanding host, a talented and kind man who created a new "piece of art"in the Late Night Television. I hope you come back one day.
I started watching The Late Late Show with Tom Snyder (the original host) Craig Kilborn was okay. Craig Ferguson era was the best and James Corden is pretty good, he's starting to catch his stride.
I agree with you Craig Ferguson is the best, and not even on that list of late night show hosts he likes to put himself in, and why should he? He was never one! He created something different and unique! And so he will be the best and no one will get to his feet, because it was something that he created, that is about him, is full of his personality and brilliance and so individual. So I like late night host, and I do not put craig on that list. For he was totally far from it, as he himself said. He is the best
💖
Didn't start that way though. The Britney Spears monologue changed things.
Real wilmer ?
I never get tired of watching Craig. I have him on tape and watch those old shows from 2005 and 2006 once or twice a year. I hope those old shows show up here on CZcams soon. Please, Chris Bryson - keep these videos up indefinitely. I'm a little worried because when I started watching them, there were 331. Now there's 296. Fans of Craig - watch him in the morning on Celebrity Name Game. His unique style and humor come through, even on that show.
What are the odds I can get copies of those tapes from 2005 and 2006 to share with everyone here?
Please share them! I would give anything for them
You could pay to have someone get those tapes on file and share them with Archive dude to upload here
Why don't YOU upload them? Why are you holding out on us man?
I"m so thankful that someone else was able to upload Craig's monologues, puppets singing and full shows. My son threw away a lot of things when he moved me to a new apartment. Many of Craig's tapes disappeared. I was devastated!! But now I can watch him easily here. I have 5 tabs open of his shows at all times.
David Duchovny was the best first guest possible
David hosted the show a few times himself and therefore was one of the few people linked to the program they could call.
Pretty sure he wouldn't have had his leading role in Californication if he was chosen to do the show though.
I have this (and his entire first 5 months or so) on dvd somewhere. Recorded it myself.
What are the chances I could get my hands on them to share with everyone here?
Email me at llswcfarchive (at) gmail.com if you’d love to donate copies and make a lot of people really, really happy.
I wish there was a way you could share it with us all 🥲 if you can, PLEASE DO. You’ll make many people happy. ♥️
Oh plz do us a favor and email the creator of this channel and send them to him/her. We'd love to watch those episodes of the first season ❤️
Bloody hell. Most hosts you see a definite change from their first show to last. But Craig Ferguson was so consistently bonkers. It's refreshing to see someone basically being their true self. I really wish this was broadcast more in the UK when it was airing
He kept his word about Tom Cruise :)
But not so much about the funny sidekick character (which turned out to be a great thing). Not sure about late night games; I guess that depends on whether the "Iceland is in the North Atlantic" quiz gag - which he did with guests for money and with audience members for restaurant dinners - counts.
sweiland75 It would have been a good twist to have him as the final guest
rocknrolllives
Yeah definitely better than having Jay Leno
@@Swenglish This is not a lame game, so...
@@sweiland75Should have had Letterman on with Leno in the horse costume
What happened to the group of over 90 monologues of Craig's from 2005 to 2007. Those were the best! I wish someone would upload them again. As said earlier, those monologues and even some of the later ones were such a wonderful remedy for depression. I watched them at least 10 times each in the past.
have you tried "the jay leno fly" channel?
I regretted drinking water while watching the first 30 seconds
I miss this show, and Craig, and Geoff, and Secretariat.... so much. :'(
Still cool in 2018. You're the man.
They were still using the late 90s/early-mid 00s Craig Kilborn-era set at the time when Craig Ferguson hosted his first show on January 3rd, 2005.
3:20 Sid the Cussing Rabbit awakening!
This is a fantastic first episode of the late late show with Craig Ferguson
When the show was on the air I was working the corporate life up 6am to bed at 10pm, not a clue about this show. Now retired I happen upon Craig Fergusson two years ago by youtube. WOW, I love the show, and view clips daily.
I wish i could have watched tbis as it aired, would have loved to see the progression from normal-ish talk show to the bonkers amazing show it was at the end
Before Geoff.
Before Secretariat.
Before Beth.
Before Michael was a racist.
Before Sid.
Before Wavy.
Before Icarus.
Before Balls.
better tim roth
There should be a documentary made a bout this guys life.
he should've been played by tim roth
and geoff peterson should've been played by kelli wilalms
This is how Greatness started. And This is how Greatness should be!
I absolutely love Craig Ferguson!!! I only caught the show in its last season how excited I am think to get to watch it from the beginning!!! I thought I was trippin when I turned out the channel and saw him a robot and a horse!!! I thought what kind of freaking weird ass show is this and then I fell in love!!!
same my compatriot that's why I was so bummed when he left the show so I went to your friendly neighborhood CZcams and found these videos
Better than the guy who wrote in saying he started watching the show at the beginning of the final week.
First day of the best 10 years in Late shows! It's a shame but all good things must come to an end.
First show and he is already setting the bar...Craig is awesome
"can you say balls?" Oh sweet summer child
I have been waiting ten years to see his first episode! Thank you so much for uploading!!!! :D
WOW!
He is truly one gorgeous looking man! We women need more men like Craig, handsome, funny and so humble...
Your welcome Mr. Ferguson and we should be thanking you.
Such a perfect specimen of a man, beautifully crafted, designed and created.💕
I loved when he said he'll never have a side-kick ;)
jeff wasn't his side kick. he was played by his good friend and he even said it was both there show. josh does all the voices hes a big part
Allan Mccann Alright, first it's Geoff, not Jeff. Secondly why are you disagreeing with me while agreeing with me? What are you even talking about? Josh did voice a few things on the show, but primarily voiced Geoff, as the side kick. And Josh didn't even get a full time job on that show until 2012. Before then Geoff was voiced by a random crew-member who pre-recorded his lines. Josh and Craig didn't know each other personally until Josh got the job. And thanks for letting me know "Josh does all the voices hes a big part." Really helpful information that nobody knew before you said it. How does that even relate to my original comment?
JordanB, ikr Craig was always very gracious about having to eat his words about the anti-sidekick stance. Still, he did it his own way.
The no Sidekick idea went well ;) god I miss GP and the Fergs!
The birth of a legend!
I was 3 goin on 4 years old when this Late Late Show dropped. Craig Ferguson gives me the chills I miss him.
Never seen his first few seasons, I'm excited to go through them. Thanks for having these!!!
My first time watching A Craig Ferguson Late Late Show, and definitely would not be my last! Amazing show!
Oh I hope you know how lucky you are. You get to see it all for the first time!
never saw first one either. very pleased. thank you sooooooooo much!
💕Yes Mr. Craig Ferguson, you are the Late Night Show, The Man!💕
Aw man, even in his first show Craig Ferguson is as great as he always is.
So happy they replaced the Parrot with Geoff!!! hahahhaha
And thus started the best host and late show ever !😊
do you have any more of the first season? I would love to be able to watch every episode. from the beginning to the unfortunate end
Same!!! It's all later ones online...
since you haven't answered this, I guess you don't have a Craig collection. I lost mine when I moved. Would pay big money for tapes of his earliest monologues (2004 to 2007.
The jayleno fly (CZcams channel)
Finding this archive saves my brain during lockdown! TYTY!
So weird not hearing him say it's a good day for America
It feels like a very normal late show. But oh boy what it would become...
I sincerely hope you're able to get the rest of 2005 uploaded. Went to Television City to see a few tapings that year, and there was one monologue in particular that just about had me falling out of my chair there. I hope the words "Carjackers of the San Fernando Valley" ring a bell...
Wow this is great! Craig accent is much thicker back them than it is now. 😂
Thank you so much for uploading these...I'm a huge fan, but I never really got to watch as much as I would have liked. I really miss seeing Craig every night. It's a great feeling to be able to see these.
better believe I will be watching all these shows from start to finish! thanks so much for the uploads!
5:00 Gotta love his accent. "This chair is just not a piece of furniture" part...
I wish I could have seen this back in 2005
I love that on his first show he came in and owned it.
The king of late night!
Craig got some Al Pachino thing to him back then
I remember watching this the day it aired and thinking how this guy was the best ever, Conan had been my favorite up till then.
2020 ... Still the one and only :)
Watching in stage 4 lockdown from Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺 in July.
what a trip, as much as I hate he retired, I hoped there would be a huge amount of uploads. Much thanx
It was....wait for it....Legendary!
The playlist for this is a sad reminder that the old jokes about "Once something is on the internet, it's there forever" aren't true.
I own a number of physical copies of things that you simply can't find online. Except maybe ebay here and there if you're lucky.
Digital preservation, my ass... (I of course really appreciate anyone who tries!)
That opening song is amazing
The beginning of a legendary journey
I remember seeing him as Mr. Wick on Drew Carey for years before he started the Late Late Show and the first few times I watched him on this being shocked by his Scottish accent…I honestly though he was British he did the Mr. Wick character’s accent so well.
thank you for uploading this! where have you found it, though? and can you post more 2005 episodes?
Beyond cool. Glad I finally got to see this.
'Make a late night joke, wiggle the tie, turn to the gay robot and.. HE'S NOT THERE!' - If only Geoff and Secretariat were there from the start.
First episode and he was already constructing his own thing. I miss him so much
david duchovny is a seriously funny dude
„what is he like dutch or something?“ haha oh man this was just so good
you knew it will be different from the very start. come back Craig, pls!
Oh WOW! Craige was young once.... well,.... once...
cheers for the upload
Love this!!! Miss Craig. :(
Every night I'd watch him. He was the real deal.
What about the first guest host show he did? Can only find the Hugh Laurie segment on youtube.
He came in riding in on a tiny horse, and rode out on a fake horse.
And history was made.
you can tell he was nervous im so glad he got his footing and this show took off the way it did and had the success it deserved
I love how different Craig's start on Late Late Show was so different to Conan O'Brien starting out on Late Night in 1993. Craig had a "I couldn't care less" attitude. Letterman must have been happy having Craig follow him. Conan in 1993 looked so out of his depth.
Thanks for posting - I enjoyed Nicole Sullivan's appearance as she voices a favorite character, Marlene on Penguins of Madagascar. :) And of course, Craig rocks!!
Only UK comedian in America that doesn't shit on America all the time
I was 3 when this aired on January 3rd, 2005.
First episode?Awesome!!!!!!!!!!
Funny to see how the show was very Letterman-Leno-wise and how he changed everything. And today, Fallon, Kimmel are still following the Letterman-Leno formula. Balls.
I could CRY at how pretty this is
I love how he formed the show even from his first day
putting up with the chair joke..
copping the birds comments on the chin
then Craig puts his foot down and made it clear that it's not coming back
RESPECT to David having his back like a true pal!
I think after Craig thanked him, you could tell by David's face thinking like:
whoever the idiot was that pulled that kinda bs I hope you get fired.
David is hysterical!
