We should not be scared of this mighty Australians in our childhood time's. because our Indian team in dadas captaincy gave them a great dominating challenges by defeating them in 2001 Test series. and even in their home condition in 2003 test series, It is much enough than any other challenge to them during their dominant phase.
The way Hayden played in 2001 series, he gained my respect and has been one of my favorites ever since then. Also, the way Langer marked his spot after a bad spell of form amidst so much competition in that Australian team was remarkable. Huge respect to both of them and the Australian team of that time. They were just incredible.
As a long suffering English cricket fan, I really do admire these two true legends of the game. If it wasn't McGrath metronomically turning Atherton round with a cross-batted nick to slip or Warne bamboozling batsmen with prodigious spin out of the rough, it was this great opening pair that would often extinguish any vague hope of victory, let alone respectability, that England had in Ashes tests during the 1990s and Noughties. It was a privilege to watch this phenomenal generation of cricketers play with such intensity, skill and consistency. They truly revolutionised modern day test match cricket and thoroughly deserve all the respect and plaudits they earned. Testament to how good Langer was is exemplified by how prematurely Michael Slater's test career came to an abrupt halt, and I'd credit Slater as setting the tone for the aggressive manner with which other Australian batsmen (like Ponting and Gilchrist) played from the mid/late 90's onwards. One blink and Slater would have Australia 50 for none (or none for 50) after 10 overs, both tainting the figures and destroying the careers of many an opening bowler. This style of play made it possible to psychologically lose a test or even series within the first session, the rest would amount to damage limitation. Taylor and Slater were a very fine opening pair, but the partnership Hayden and Langer forged was a real advancement which took the game, scoring rates particularly, to another level. I doff my cap to you fine sirs!
That team won matches before they ever entered the field through the sheer intimidation of the names playing for it. Out of 11, up to 8 were all time legends. @@Pk31967 the reason is Australia never used their full resources. For example in 2014 they lost against Zimbabwe however on using their best team they dominated the 2015 world cup.
Again you see, Hazlewood,Cummins,Starc were injured, Warner,Smith banned, Watson retired, Faulkner dropped,Khawaja injured.
Just see as soon as they used Starc in T20s, the difference between the current bowlers and Starc was quite clear. He bowled beautifully that also 3 overs in powerplay when the others were getting bashed.
Beautiful, pretty emotional. They set a standard of opening partnership and friendship.
That six from Hayden would be one of the most glorious shots ever. The thing is he did that often.
The mentality of that team. So many times did they come back from very difficult positions.
What a story guys. What a lovly moment. Hard to imagine. Gilly sir crying and all the Australian's being emotional and all. But nun the less a beautiful story. And that Australian team. Was once in a life time.

Do a video on Damien Martyn
The most elegant batsman I have ever seen!!!!! The classic 'Marto'
Martyn had the best technique since Greg Chappell
Yep very underrated batsman.
I have his autograph
Yes! Beautiful batsman, flawless technique, really elegant...and the selectors' favourite scapegoat, which probably suggests why they won't do a video on him...
