    This was not liberation but invasion! You don't liberate enemy territory. Aachen was and is a town in Germany.

      Rennes is a french city near the coast!!! btw however you want to see it the german people got liberated from the nazis so technically Aachen also got liberated..

      @@runs_through_the_forest Germany was occupied by Allied forces. The Nazi regime was voted into power in 1933 by the German people. To the German people the Allied troops were the enemy, the men who had killed their sons, brothers, fathers etc and destroyed their towns and cities with bombing raids. Hardly liberators! And don't forget we know of the crimes of the Nazi regime. Ordinary germans did not know what was happening behind the barbed wire of the concentration camps. The Nazi regime was careful to keep their worst excesses very secret!

      @@vatsmith8759 the german people being liberated from the insane ideologically driven creepshow is/was much appreciated, also for the dutch belgian french danish norse people it was generally a good thing yeah.. now the other more eastern side of europe (and eastern germany) had less reasons for celebration but hey, f around and find out is what they say, right?
