- In this Episode of our Adventure along the Trans-Siberian Railway in Russia, we arrive in Vladivostok in Primorsky Krai after 80 hours on the train from Ulan-Ude, and head out into the deep green wilderness.
Here, we meet some friends and explore Russia's beautiful landscape. While doing so, we encountered an abandoned military barracks. I had heard a lot about the abandoned Soviet Military Bases in eastern Europe, and even went urban exploring a military bunker once, but nothing like this.
After we returned to the camp, and caught fresh seafood with our hands, made a pasta, and drank around a campfire. The perfect day.
A bit of a background story. This is a train journey of 10,000 km across Russia, the biggest country in the world. 25 days to visit Saint Petersburg, Moscow, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, Ulan-Ude, and Vladivostok.

Chase Your Fears 🐉
Haha, that was quite the greeting you received at the train station in Vladivostok! Beautiful, profound words on the beach. It's interesting to hear how time seems to speed up and slow down when you travel. It's odd...life can feel like that when you're stagnant as well. That beach seems like a perfect place to think. Beautiful and wild, with the mist and fog adding a bit of mystique and mystery. I can only imagine your joy when you guys saw the abandoned barracks on the horizon! I've always been fascinated by nature reclaiming places built by humans, too. Loved watching you go fishing...and that seafood pasta looks even better than some I've seen in restaurants! Awesome episode. Looking forward to the epic conclusion! 🐉🐉🐉🐉
capturing words my friend :)
Amazing how beautiful the world could be, and how small yet huge the planet is.
I found your video very interesting. I was last in that area Jan 23, 1968 when North Korea hijacked our USS Pueblo. Back in those days it was very common for Russian Trawlers to make dangerous maneuvers around our US Navy Ships.
Usa ship went in north korean water.and they seize it.very simple when u enter others territory for spying.
Im a poor single mother from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania with a sense of adventure. I may never be able to travel to such magical places but i can see them thru your videos. Ty
If you want this then you can do it. It would be amazing to know your opinion. I'm also a big follower of this channel and I too create videos concerning life in Russia. Sadly the youtube algorithm has not been as nice to me yet. Almost everybody who sees my videos states that it is top notch, however few are able to see it. Can you be extremely truthful and tell me exactly how I can improve my content? I value your truthful point of view.
Thanks for these great videos they are truly unique here on youtube! Would love to see you guys traveling together more and hope you come back to Russia, still soooo much to explore! I wish you could see the Republic of Karelia, Altai republic, the Golden Ring and travel down the river Volga into the southern territories! Thank you for showing the true nature of Russia and please stay safe!!!
Calm mike at home with nature.
I hope you could also feature the colder regions of russia up north in the future.
Bonjour Mike de Montréal, Québec, Canada. I love chasing your brilliant videos, so educational and fantastic. Take care and keep grounded.
That was quite the welcome! 😊 amazing vlog as always such beautiful place. I don't know what it is about your voice but it's so soothing to me.
Cool. I live in Russia in Bashkiria. There are also many beautiful mountain places, but you have to get out of the cities to rural areas. Unfortunately I don’t know English well, so sorry.
I loved the way you narrate the moments its like realization about life and journey hmm im here watching your vlog while waiting vlogs of fighter boys hehe take care
Nice to watch. Vladivostok is my home town. I spent quite some time camping on the islands there when I was young. Your video awakens some memories.
Now I live in Cambodia, it is a different place and the Russian far east still holds a special place in my heart. Good luck with your adventures.
Woah! Your videos are so amazing! You have inspired me :) watching from Australia!!!

Moustache Mike, lol :)
Just like yourself, I love the sea! Here in Odessa, Ukraine, I just need to walk 15 minutes or so to be at the beach. Love it! I can spend so much time just sitting there and enjoying the sound of the waves. If you ever come to Ukraine, be sure to visit Odessa, it would be great to meet you :)
Yeah you should visit Odessa, Mike. I was born in Odessa!
Mike awesome trip. Can only imagine how you feel after a trip like this, you have a gift of putting it into words. Totally enjoyed every video. They knew who to pick coming off the train. Nice wake up call with a shot. 👍👍
Thank you for your interesting videos. If you ever come to Russia again, you should visit Kamchatka peninsula, the nature is so beautiful there. Also visit the south part of Russia by the Black see. It's beautiful there. You still haven't seen much of Russia. :)
you deserve more subscribers and views i like ur videos!!!
There...that intimate talk! Missed that in the two previous vlogs. Always waiting for some wise words.
P.S. are we talking about 80 hours straight, with short stops?! Always get confused with those other dramatic vloggers..heheh!
Bro nice vid
I marked in my calendar mike! Feb 2 fighter boys season 3 ✌
coralline algae are everywhere in reefs. im currently seeing it in my reef tank mate. great viddys cheers mate!
Hey, Mike. I'm glad you found those vials of antihistamines. When they fell out of your pocket, I thought it was a bad omen for sure (I'm part-Chinese so I'm somewhat superstitious). Abandoned places filled with poisonous snakes is a recipe for disaster. Glad you made it all okay. Can't wait for your next-and sadly final-installment of your Russian adventure. Stay safe. Cheers!
This is such a blessing to experience this through the lens.
Stuff that you don't see anywhere else. I'd be fascinated to know your opinion. I'm also a huge follower of this channel and I likewise create vlogs about life in Russia. However the youtube algorithm has actually not been as kind to me yet. Nearly everyone that sees my vlogs claims that it is brilliant, however not many get to view it. Can you be brutally honest and tell me just how I can improve the content? I value your honest opinion.
Trans Can highway on a bus takes just as long.Vancouver-Halifax would take longer(5 days).I`m going to miss riding the Greyhound. It was a blast hoping a bus to Toronto. from Vancouver and back...did it 3 times in one year...two full weeks of bus travel.Sweetest piece of road on Earth because it leads home either way I travel.
Such an odd thing to hear my first language in a foreign video =) Nice!
Nice train.. 🙂
The TransSib challenge is probably my favorite compilation of CZcams videos to date. I love Russia and its people. When i traveled from Odessa Ukraine to Vladivostok over a 2 week period we stayed in several remote villages and I was introduced to the finest cuisine of my life. The food, the people, the land, it is my most treasured memories. I truly feel blessed to have been able to experience all that i did before things became too heated for Americans to travel in Russia. I dont believe we will be able to do this for many decades. Probably will not have the opportunity to revisit in my lifetime. Which is unfortunate for myself and for anyone who has not had the opportunity to do so.
Filipino Watching from Thailand :)
That was a leisure trip 😅
MIKE!! Can you do a trip to Germany for October Fest, i would love to see your take on it!! Your videos are great and I cannot believe I haven’t found them any sooner!! Thank you for what you do man and wishing I could be doing the same!

Watching from the culinary heart of the Philippines. Province of Pampanga. And I Thank You
I am so envious of that meal.
I'm sure those old walls had some stories to them. I'm sure very serial!
Beautiful. No tigers in the long grass?
Hello Mike
👌👌👌👍👍👍😍😍😍💙💙💙
Dope
Love ur fearless feet!!!more way to go!!!
Miss you Micmic !
Love Russia, amazing place to travel! But I only traveled parts of European Russia (during the World Cup 2018) and really want to go and explore Siberia and Far-Eastern Russia as well, and other regions for that matter. The country is so huge and there is so much to explore.
And yeah abandoned places do have some sort of unique beauty to them.
I also want to catch and eat sea urchins and stuff directly from the ocean, awesome.
Oh and of course the vodka came after all. Was a bit a first like, wait what, wine? ;)
Your video coming to an end, and I don't know, I think I'm kind of bummed about that.
watching from Philippines
You can find one in Mogadishu as well.
You done the Kurt caz dips
Fighter boys season 3 👌
not even 5 minutes in on my first Russia video and you're already taking shots off of swords.
this did not disappoint
hahahaha..... I'd love to know your opinion. I'm also a big follower of this channel and I also make content to do with life in Russia. I don't know why but the youtube algorithm has not been as favourable to me yet. Almost all people that watches my vlogs states that it is great, yet few get to view it. Can you be extremely straight up and inform me exactly how I can improve the content? I value your truthful viewpoint.
I from lao 🇱🇦
3rd Class... But First Class presentation! Alone, Abandoned... But Fans and friends support you. Go under to feast on a top chef prepared meal. Sad it’s ending but happy for the memories and experience you’ve shared. This Transiberian challenge videos changed my views of Russia and Russians. Feared to respected. Thank you, Mike!🐉🐉🐉🐉❤️
@Brandon Moore nice
But also quite a read
I sell mussels! Here in Newfoundland, lots of old fishing villages and abandoned buildings from the wars, oldest Provence in Canada!
More Russia please )))
In 3:40 min it should be a title like "5 years later"
If I just woke up and a sword-wielding woman approached me, I'd probably freak the heck out! 🤣 Kidding aside, they are obviously friendly with their big smiles. Awesome way to be welcomed to a new place! Appreciate the marine biology lesson with the mussel too!
Hi handsome😁
Hi mike how are you?
Make the videos longer this is my tv
Can I ask what backpack you have in this video?
I'd love to know your opinion. I'm also a massive fan of this channel and I likewise create videos about life in Russia. However the youtube algorithm has actually not been as nice to me yet. Practically all people who enjoys my material writes that it is excellent, but not many get to watch it. Can you be extremely truthful and inform me how I can improve the content? I value your sincere viewpoint.
How come you don't get any views for your Russia series? Did you get shadowbanned by the youtube algorithm or what? I just discovered your channel and I can't believe you are averaging 5-6k views per video, I mean your production is awesome and the content itself is amazing too.
Wish I knew my man.
Is CZcams shadow banning a thing?
@@fearlessandfar I'm not an expert on that, but I heard from other youtubers that shadowban is a real thing. I'm subscribed to quite a few of travel channels, I also watched a lot of travel vlogs from Russia, so usually, when some channel that i'm not familiar with uploads travel vlog from Russia, I learn about it through my "recommended" section, but I've never seen your channel being advertised by youtube algorithm, I found it through Gareth's channel. It might be just a coincidence, but I have a feeling that I almost never miss new videos about Russia, youtube often pushes videos even from very small channels. So yea, you might wanna look into it. Anyway, I hope you'll get more views in the future, you clearly deserve much more!
It was in my recommended section today. Even if something was off it is OK now.
I bet that building has been sitting since WW2
🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭❤❤❤❤
i think it is safer and better if u wore sandals or boots to protect ur feet
Stay same people
How much did you pay for that shot? :D
Russia is truly so beautiful and vast
Yes! It has so much more to offer than most people think. It would be amazing to know your opinion. I'm additionally a substantial fan of this channel and I likewise create vlogs about life in Russia. Unfortunately the youtube algorithm has not been as kind to me yet. Nearly all people who sees my material writes that it is excellent, but few get to watch it. Can you be brutally sincere and tell me how I can improve the content? I value your honest viewpoint.
Спасибо ребят, познакомился с вашими каналами. Это конечно далеко не самое интересное, что можно увидеть, но все равно приятно.
You call this a risk? Really? It's a lovely place where I'd go without anything but water when I was 15... But frankly I live here and so I know how safety these areas
Dont drink anything u receive broooooo
Good advice! It would be great to know your opinion. I'm likewise a huge fan of this channel and I too create videos concerning life in Russia. However the youtube algorithm has not been as helpful to me yet. Practically everyone that watch my vlogs claims that it is top notch, however few get to watch it. Can you be extremely honest and tell me just how I can improve? I value your straightforward opinion.
How long are you in russia
This channel is doing everything. Food and sightings, just stick to exploring new tribes and culture’s. That’s what brought me here
Spider bites you - you become Spider-man
"Bald and bankrupt" bites you - you start going to unknown soviet buildings of no importance.
Bald and Bankrupt could find an alcoholic in a monastery. I'd be fascinated to know your opinion. I'm also a big follower of this channel and I likewise make content about life in Russia. unluckily the youtube algorithm has not been as good to me yet. Virtually all people that sees my vlogs claims that it is great, yet few get to view it. Can you be completely honest and inform me just how I can make it better? I value your straightforward opinion.
@@SamsRussianAdventures good channel you got there. Keep up with it and maybe one day your channel would blow up with subscribers and views.
You need to grow mustaches.
