Her coming back like this was very sad for many reasons. It does sound like her dad is not the best person, but her brother and mom aren't good either. It seems like she can only accept how harmful her dad was/is but is still in denial about her other family members. The music video was just further proof her exploitation never ended.

I definitely think that a lot more is going to come out further down the line. It’s good that she’s away from her father, but it’s still nerve wracking to know that she doesn’t seem to have anyone that’s trying to help her just be a kid. I hope she’s able to heal from everything and grow into herself without the influences of her family one day.
I’m not going to say she didn’t endure abuse from her father, but she clearly also endured abuse and exploitation from her brother and mom. The fake death to the comeback and I’m sorry but the live seemed scripted and having so much printed out isn’t something I would have thought of at 14.

Another thing that I wanted to say, even if someone intervened and tried to get her to just be a kid without all this hypersexualization and shit, she might take it badly. she might fight back, and do foolish shit. it's stupid to think mayority of teenagers will just take the help they're given, many, many teens want to be adults- and it might be that Lil Tay is the same way.
basically, she's not a little kid that takes stuff people says at face value anymore. she's bound to start shit with anyone that tries to tell her this is wrong.
I feel like this is a pretty huge factor here because people are going to remove ALL agency from her, but... teenagers DO want to look cool and sexy to other teenagers :/ that's exactly how 14-year-old girls acted a decade ago when I was in school. The outfit is more like what pop star teens wear, but in rap, all the icons she's looking to are full-grown women with adult aesthetics - Doja, Meghan, Cardi etc.
Her being inspired by them isn't the fault of any problem, but it is the job of her mother and brother to look out for her and discourage her from dancing in athletic underwear online. They could have said no to everything that was inappropriate, whether it was Tay's idea or not. 100% this is still on their shoulders. But she probably isn't being held hostage.
I'm having so much trouble believing her honestly. The dad kept her off the internet for 5 years and as soon as mom gets custody shes back? Sus.

The issue is that she's not "still just a child", in the sense that she's now a much older child. She seems to be very enthusiastic about this aesthetic... Young teenagers don't have the capacity to make this kind of choice 😢 they need to be protected from themselves and her family has enabled this, bad intentions or not.
This whole live video felt like a kid who’s repeating something a parent told them to say, it’s a really sad situation for her to be in
I'm not sure how much to believe of her claims as these claims have been made since before she was officially in his care, primarily from her brother and mother. Regardless, her entire family has demonstrated they've repeatedly failed her. The thing that squicks me is how clearly they've tried to make her seem older than she actually is; her music video has way too much showing for a fourteen year old. Also supposedly her name is Tay Tian but other stuff says Claire Hope so.... something's really wrong.
It's so angering that people will dismiss abuse claims from imperfect victims. Yes, the brother (who was still a child) bullied his little sister. Yes, her mother enables dangerous behaviour. But this family has been in court for YEARS. If it was all total bs, the court wouldn't have put her with her problematic mother and brother and let them move country.

@@theMoporter First, courts tend to keep children with the mother. That's how it is, and a lot of very good fathers lose custody to bad mothers this way. Second, as a teenager, it would be very easy for her to literally tell the courts that she would prefer to live with her mother and they are more likely to grant that, as she's old enough to make a decision on which parent she would like to live with. Abuse does not have to be happening for custody battles or for custody to be awarded to one parent in particular. Because, if you recall, the courts actually removed her from her mothers custody, when all of this was going down five years ago, and placed her in her fathers care.
She probably spent those 5 years in acting school. A 14 year old acting like this, also... Sure, we can all wear whatever we want but that outfit is so inappropriate for someone her age.

I'm not going to deny serious allegations like this, I think she deserves the benefit of the doubt on that. That being said, her mom and brother are shady and extremely problematic. She doesn't have anyone in her life to protect her. I feel, however, like this whole thing is not 100% genuine. I think she's definitely either exaggering some things or covering up other things. Idk why i do think the dad is not behind the death hoax, but he was the easiest scapegoat for that. There is a chance they truly believe it was him, but i am inclining towards thinking the mom/brother did it themselves or got someone else to ""hack"" into the acc and do it
100% the mom and brother did the hoax. I think they abuse the dad cause it's easy to pin shit on him and not the other way around. All those images she showed... they showed nothing. This whole situation is so strange. The printed receipts showing significant prep work, but streaming it live? Rather than editing the receipts into a video where they could be easily paused and read? This doesn't say anything for the truth of her claims - I'd personally prefer not to speculate either way and I'm not interested in making judgement on the adults on her life (like, I don't know these people or their content) aside from knowing at least one of her family members has been abusive, if not more, and I hope she's safe. But this way of presenting this is REALLY strange and I'm not sure what to make of it.
As much as this is a sad story something about this livestream feels fake. I think there's a high possibility that there is a lot of truth in it but the way shes exposing it does feel very off. Shes grown so much but shes still talking like she did when she flexed and it just makes it feel like she's still being couched and forced to do things. The timing is too perfect since the death hoax. I just hope she is in a better situation and not be forced back into her flexing lifestyle coached by her family and i pray she won't be sexualised seeing as Shes already been so dolled up. This just feels so off. I wont deny the stories, its hard to believe all of it but i wish nothing but the best for this young girl.

i was suspicious of the dad from when i seen that video of her bawling in the car and not wanting to go with him. i’m always suspicious of what’s happening in a household when the kid acts like they’re going to be tortured if they have to live with someone. idk how i feel abt her mom the seeming exploitation part of this makes me side eye her mom but if what she’s saying about her dad is true (i’m more inclined to believe her i’m sorry but when a child tells me their parents are abusive i believe them) i’m happy she’s away from him cause the whole doing it in bed next to her and touching her leg and shit is so sick.

There's always a possibility of parental alienation going on though. With all the allegations that both Tay and her brother threw at her dad and both the brother's "proof" and Tay's lackthereof (currently at least), there's a very reasonable possibility that what they consider to be "abuse" is highly exaggerated and even distorted to help with her comeback. The father has been quiet on the internet front and has stuck to the courts, so we have no idea about him other than what the unreliable brother and mother say. Tay is young and has previously been proven to be highly coached and taught what to say and how to act by the brother.
Of course, still could be the case the dad is terrible, but I'm more inclined to think he had nothing to do with the death hoax like Tay's brother claims and that these abuse allegations are further attempts to both generate buzz for Tay's comeback and for the mom to be spiteful to her ex

I am so sorry. I don't even know who this girl is, but the way that she is talking about such abuse in this way doesn't site right with me. As someone who survived childhood abuse and dv in my marriage something about the way she's speaking and acting is rubbing me the wrong way. I hope to God she isn't lying or Exaggerating.
I can't help but feel like she's being coached / told what to say even in the Livestream. It feels like her Mom is behind these allegations out of spite. Because believing that she truly went through this kind of abuse is just horrible.
IMO Lil Tay does not have a person in her life that doesn't manipulate her in any kind of way. She is so young! It will be long until she is free and comes to the conclusion that something was very wrong growing up.

i find it extremely weird that she's the one coming out. With something as awful as what she is describing, I'd expect an adult (her mom ideally) to come out and talk about this for her, especially if there has been legal action as so much of this feels close to neglect or child abuse - that way she could "face the music" for the exploitation she committed too. I feel like there's such a high chance of her mom and/or brother directing her to do all this and going back to square one. I'm glad she's not with her dad anymore but I'm very skeptical of how this was handled.

tbh I get that she can’t really speak out on her mom since she is still a minor and i’m assuming not emancipated. it does seem a little too convenient that her dad was the one to fake her death years after her relevance faded just for her to come out and release a music video, though. like I don’t believe her dad was a good person at all, but it’s too suspicious that she (read her mom/brother) is using this as a come back and then saying someone else faked her passing so her mom and brother don’t look worse than they already do. seems like they were missing the money she was bringing in so they needed their circus monkey to dance again. I feel bad for her and I hope she makes it out and gets therapy.

If her dad is abusive, she should still not be back in her mother's care at all. Just because the other one is abusive doesn't mean the other side isn't. That just means they're both not fit to take care of a child. I honestly don't understand how they let this happen when there are so many evidence and videos that proved just how toxic and how exploitative her mom and brother was. It's insane. This isn't a battle of "who's a better parent", this is about a child's life. This is about what is good for a child. Lil Tay, again, is STILL a child. She doesn't know what's good for her.
