It was super fun going through Unleashed again but with Shadow. It's been quite a long time since I've actually gone through the game, so excuse the poor gameplay in some areas. Also, this was recorded on a PS3 Emulator so expect some FPS drops throughout. I might upload a follow up video to this including the full Eggmanland Stage and the final boss, the only reason I didn't in this video is because a lot of Eggmanland features the Werehog, which remains unchanged in this mod. While at the same time im dissing forces because that crap is someth we shouldve gotten ages ago, learned from and moved past but nope its the most recent main game
I mean, considering that the "GO!" clip is also used for Homing Attacks and Boosting it'd result in Shadow yelling "MOVING!" when he boosts or Homing Attacks, which would be hilarious for all the wrong reasons

Also, fun fact, Shadow and Knuckles were originally gonna be in Unleashed, but since the story revolved around Sonic this time around, and his new abilities and companion, there really would not have been much to do with them in the story. I just looked it up on reddit, in the comics, Shadow was helping people around the planet, and Knuckles made sure Angel Island was safe. Not canon unfourtanetley, but I'd create a headcanon!

It was a shortcut used for his boss fight in Generations that everyone just latched onto because flying is easier to animate than skating. Silver got hit by it too. Silver runs just as much as anyone else and only ever flies for more than a few moments in cutscenes, but nope, that exact same crusty animation always inevitably gets recycled for Silver mods too.
I've always wondered what were the other characters doing during this game, i mean is a friking apocalipse and only Tails and Amy are there for Sonic, shouldnt the others be there too and Gun doesnt give a crap about what is happening
Yeah it's a big issue with the story actually and makes it feel like a reboot, realistically Knuckles and Shadow at least would have somehow gotten involved if they were around. I think it's because after 06 they were very sensitive about other characters as they believed that was one of the biggest issues with 06 due to complaints at the time. The whole 'Sonic has too many friends' fiasco. They still haven't recovered from this too, Knuckles and Tails may never be playable or relevant again just because of it.

Not many people seem to notice this detail, but I am a big fan of that blue trace Sonic leaves whenever he does a homing attack or a stomp or uses a spring in 2D sections (here with Shadow it's orange). It's really satisfying to look at
the reason it reminds you of roller skating is because that’s what he’s actually doing. You do realize what shadow is wearing isn’t rocket shoes, but rocket skates right?
Cause in Unleashed its not JUST a fun version of boost to win But all the levels have to do with you needing lightning reflexes and timing things perfectly almost all the time for the best performance Theres those that balance out 'boost to win' levels so that its so much more to it than that, and that's what makes it fun :00

A) by the end of the game in Spagonia I think (haven't play Unleashed in a while) is India and you encounter Amy which she says she is gonna throw toh a clebration once he comes back from saving the world and she wants to date sonic you will have a choice to either A, say no or B, say yes. And by the end of Black Knight sonic was supposed to go on a date with Amy. Which is what you are supposed to say in Unleashed. B) since most players would try and go to Spagonia to see the celebration nothing is happening So I think that post Unleashed they have the clebration off screen (my mini theory) hence why sonic is so alseep. And would explain why Sonic would have the Arbain nights book on the table . So if anybody reads this tell me what you think or if I gotten some things wrong thx.

Nice mod, tho it has the same problem that stops me downloading the gens shadow mod, is that his boosting animation is wrong, its shown in his gens boss fight and in forces when you play as shadow his boosting is supposed to look like his chaos control from his solo game where he is semi flying along like sonics super form.
This genuinely makes me wish even though I like the werehog that shadow was used for unleashes story and would have been used for the nighttime stages shadow would have had a bigger focus on combat like how seag makes him out to be and he wouldve probably made fans more happy especially and the game more interesting
