Following their recent ordeal with an order of shushy paladins, the Oxventure heroes Corazon, Dob, Egbert, Merilwen and Prudence travel to Redcastle for a spot of relaxation.
Only instead of a resort and spa, the Oxventurers find a fancy mansion gearing up for an annual criminal free-for-all, in which the duke of the manor invites violent thieves from across the land to try burglarising his home. So then they do that instead.

Elizabeth Alice Whitley In my headcanon (based on the descriptions given when she uses her power e.g. 20:25) she could kill everyone with the snap of her fingers but she thinks that would be to easy.
I kinda take umbridge with that, actually. I think Prudence would be more active in her efforts to co-opt/recruit her companions to her way of thought, or at least silence Corazon more often, or at all...

I think the reason she doesn’t is because if she waits until the enemies are mostly dead she can cast a spell that makes their dead body unidentifiable, therefore causing sorrow and sadness for the family of the deceased and pleading Cthulhu. Almost all of her eldritch blasts seem to leave piles of ash as graves.

So Merilwen spent almost her entire adventure being a cute kitty? Methinks someone is trying to trick everyone into thinking the meat grinder wasn't on purpose. & that's without even mentioning the savage bear mauling.

He's a gnome druid and a recurring villain. He probably secretly transferred his consciousness to a nearby rat or changed into a fly after faking his death or something like that.

Yet another massive tip of the hat to Johnny. Being a DM is a massive pain in the butt, let alone trying to balance that with making an entertaining show with a set time limit with 5... "unique individuals" like the OxBoxtra team. You, sir, are epic. These D&D sessions likely would have fizzled out by the first episode if you weren't a master at your craft.
I have yet to see the rest of the campaign, whether any of them including Johnny, have actually learned any of the rules of the game by now, but what he lacks in technical knowledge, Johnny more than makes up for in following the "Rule of Cool", improv "Yes And"-ing their wild schemes, and keeping it entertaining for the players and the audience!
He's impressive af considering when they started he only had been a DM three times before

Johnny needs to use the DM trick I used to use many years ago - if the party kills the boss quickly - just keep on adding hit points until it feels like a real challenge.

The dislikes are from the goblin guy's widowed wife and fatherless children. There's Tyler, Emma and little tiny baby Phillip. Look at Tyler. Tyler has asthma, but he is battling it like a champ.

Genuine roleplaying with just enough roll-playing to keep things moving along - I especially enjoy the bit when the DM takes to a flask for something stronger.

Also really glad they got to actually finish this adventure, but im really bummed out about the announcer at the end. they need to do some more "home" games like the first two, and quiet riot, or at least some more things in their own time. anyway i loved this.
I'm surprised Jane's not taking advantage of her Telepathy from the Great Old One patron; not much is creepier than someone talking into your head without moving their lips.

Hold on. Prudence has a +7 Charisma modifier? So that's a Charisma score of... 24? Damn, that pact with Cthulu has some amazing perks.
Yeah, Jane clearly has at least a basic conception of how to stat a character for using their main attack. :p Hehe.
That's also impossible. Ability scores can't go beyond 20 for PCs without manuals, which I don't believe the party have run across.. More entertaining this way though.
I think her charisma might be 17 and they're working stuff out badly, or it's 20 and they're adding proficiency bonuses
@@John_Smith. that's her spellcasting modifier. It's charisma + proficiency, so 5+2.

Highlight of the session: Egbert deciding the thieves had eaten too much and making them vomit, plus Jane and Andy laughing hysterically at the suggestion
I swear Ellen and Luke are so adorable together. When dob got vined ("dob has... 4... 4... 4... Just 4") Ellen quietly leaned over, and whispered "I'm stronger than you" teasingly
As a DM, Johnny cracking open the flask was the most relatable thing I've ever seen.
I love that line after describing how the eldrich blast obliterates the goblin, immediately she’s just ‘is he dead?’

If you think about Egbert has found alot of atonement in this campaign, he killed thieves,a goblin,killed someone who masterminded previous campaigns, which ended with him preventing the total destruction of a rain forest,trapping all wildlife in said forest, liberating a city of tyranny over free speech, so ironically he has done more good than harm
He did also condem an old, innocent, friendly man to a life of servitude as a seal. And willing endanger the lives of all the cultists on that ship by sleeping in the ships magazine. And pointlessly make people vomit. And doom a valet to be killed for fictionally poor service.
Prudence's shout of "Take that widow!" was the highlight of the adventure for me, although Egbert's shield surfing was really badass

I think Egbert will never find that atonement by now, and he will just be corrupted into some kind of whatever an unholy paladin is.

As team "mischievous alignment", Outside Xbox, continue to try and define themselves in the D&D world, I am quite convinced, all things cute and adorable, Outside Xtra, are befuddlingly evil. My thanks to both Outside Xbox and Outside Xtra for another intriguing tale of character alignment: dos and don'ts in D&D.
From then on, Dob's stew plan would go down in legend as "Dob's Gambit."
How awesome it would be if the "random" bandit transformation turned out to be a Tarrasque instead of a Goblin. Johnny would probably still change it to a low level monster since challenge is not the point of this Campaign but his expression would be priceless!
