No issue at all with female vocalists. In just the J-Rock/Metal scene alone we have so many great female fronted bands. NEMOPHILA is really taking off. Recommend more of their originals. You already covered one of their best IMO. Check REVIVE, OIRAN, or RAITE for more of their heavier stuff. Can't miss with anything though, it's all outstanding. 🌸🔥
Their covers have been excellent lately but their Maximum the Hormone covers are the best. SHIMI was the last MTH cover and I love that one. The X-Japan KURENAI cover is my favorite though. The drummer Murata tam really kills that song.

I think it does not matter if it's male or female. The song and the voice have to fit together, that's all. When I listen to Nemophilas cover of the Crüe's Shout at the Devil and Maiden's Trooper and Aces High I really hear not much difference in vocals. Vince and Bruce have such high voices, that it really does not matter when Mayu is singing their songs. Someone who is saying that he/she does not like female voices, does not really feel the music.

Thanks for the shout out guys, glad you enjoyed this song and it’s nice to see nemophila getting a new fan and as for the female vocalist thing it all comes down to personal taste I’m in my 40’s and have listened to every genre under the sun and I love women singers in rock and metal because I have heard so many male bands for so long it’s nice to see women getting their dews since there are so many women in other genres like r&b /pop and so on their isn’t enough in rock & metal compared to their counterparts and I believe that this stereotype of it’s a “male genre and women can’t do metal or rock” thing is why these women “LOVEBITES/ Nemophila/ Band Maid/ Babymetal” and others are not only challenging the stereotypes but destroying them…thanks again and keep up the great work 🤘🤘👉🇨🇦
Rolling Quartz was the other band you trying to remember. They are Korean and they just did a live stream on youtube last weekend to celebrate their 2nd anniversary. So both bands are about the same age. Nemophila have a new single coming out soon and their first full album in Dec with half the songs remastered from Their EP Oiran and an officially concert in front of a live audience in Japan in Jan 2022. I don't think any of them have been to the US yet. Not even Saki, the guitarist with the auburn red hair and her other band Mary's Blood. Speaking of which, MB just released a full album to bookend their 10 years together. I have always been drawn towards female fronted bands. I mean what's not to like? Okay Yoko Ono is an exception.

They still smile even though they are playing in their own space. There are one or two more covers where they are not playing together in the studio. Although I am not a Kiss fan, the cover they perform of the Kiss song Detroit Rock City, is probably my favourite out of the cover versions I have seen.
I'm male, and i much prefer listening to female fronted bands in all genres apart from rap/hiphop,in fact i only started listening to metal because of BABYMETAL and Nemophila,and still haven't found myself enjoying any bands fronted by male vocalists apart from BMTH, ive made a point of listening to the original versions of all of the tracks that Nemophila have covered, and honestly I haven't found one of which I don't prefer the cover version "go figure"
Listening to songs and music for me it doesn't matter who is doing it. If its good to my ear, its good no matter male or female. Same with instruments, you can pick the most epic sound guitar but if the one playing doesn't have the skills to use it and deliver, its still not good. Heck even if dolphin could play drums and its sounds good, I am all for it. Fundamentally its the results that matter, not who or how its executed.
These days I prefer female vocalists almost exclusively. However I'm not a fan of the Japanese vocalists, their higher pitch and delivery don't sound good in my ears. This particular song is right on the border for me, helps that the song is in English and she's not singing it in higher key. And Rolling Quartz is who you were thinking of.

I'm all about female vocalists no matter where they're from. Icing on the cake is if they can pull off the clean/fry/growling vocals seamlessly.
