    Lyrics:
    Everything is temporary.
Is there something I said, am I in your head tonight?
I’ve been trying too hard just to make it feel alright
And if I stay here will you only see
Can we ever change or do I stay lonely?
    Talk to me
    Talk to me
If you believe in things that you can only view
They will never see the love that I have inside for you
Can we stay in this moment tonight
I said I’m here, I’ll make it feel alright
Talk to me (Can you hear what I’m saying?)
Talk to me (I don’t wanna wait forever)
I changed who I used to be (I don’t want to wait, I don’t want to wait)
Talk to me (Can you hear what I’m saying?)
    I’m here for your love
    I can’t get enough
    I know it’s so rough
    Come on let’s get up
Talk to me (Can you hear what I’m saying?)
Talk to me (I don’t wanna wait forever)
I changed who I used to be (Can you hear what I’m saying?)
Talk to me (I don’t want to wait, I don’t want to wait)
I changed who I used to be (Can you hear what I’m saying?)
Talk to me (I don’t want to wait forever)
Talk to me (I don’t want to wait, I don’t want to wait)
Talk to me (I don’t want to wait forever)
    Talk to me
    The Tea:
"Talk to Me" was written at my friend Colin's place, a producer in Peterborough. I was on a break from my boyfriend at the time, and I was having a lot of fun writing songs and hanging out in the studio. This song emerged that day out of nowhere. The lyrics are about my then boyfriend and his attempts to convince me to get back together with him.
We had broken up due to some serious and ongoing behavior issues on his end. I had a particularly traumatic night that I tried to forgive, though it still haunted me. Alcohol was involved, of course. The final straw was when I discovered he had been going through my phone. So, in the studio, these lyrics poured out about that situation. Talk to Me is from his perspective.
I think a lot of people can relate to Talk to Me because there often comes a point where someone has changed-or claims to have changed-and there's a desire to rekindle the relationship. Ironically, we did get back together after he said he was in therapy, I’m a tragic empath. That lasted about two months before he reverted to his old ways. I stuck around for a few more months, but when I found out he was lying to me and going through my phone again, I ended it for good.
Sending love out to you all out there! Don't forget your worth!!
    SJR xoxo
