When I saw Satriani in a Betchya Can't Play This I figured "oh man this is gonna be crazy!" Ummm nope. Did u guys tell him to dumb it down? His warm up exercises video is harder than this!

I was working the Bowie concert at Giant Stadium. We had finished an MTV commercial with Bowie, the"I Want My MTV" series and I had the afternoon off. It was a beautiful day so I wandered back stage and spotted a guy working on guitars.I play a little so We started talking favorite axes, modifications etc for the afternoon.He gets a surprised look on his face and says"Well , time to go to work!" Figuring he's going to hand off guitar for the beginning of the set, I shake his hand and thank him for keeping me company, he straps on the guitar, walks on stage and rips into a song. It was Joe Satriani !He was Bowie's opening act! I thought he was the guitar tech.One of the nicest guys I ever met!!

Satriani plays and incredibly range of techniques, pulls a wide variety of sound out of his guitar, and makes very colorful music. And keep in mind that this lick suites great in the Surfing with de Alien song, which is an awesome, must-hear instrumental song, and ABOVE ALL, I betcha can't play all the amazing things that he plays in any of his shows live. Satriani is a real master of the guitar and an inspiration to the best guitar player in the world, of which of course Satriani is one of them. SAID!

If you wanted a "bet you can't play this" by Satriani, I'd have him show his "lizard down the throat" slide-and-tremolo trick, or one of his awesome length legato runs from something like "Memories" or "Hordes of Locusts", but I guess all licks are instructional.
