If it was in perth and eagles kicked 7 it would have been over,Richmond should be made to travel every second week interstate instead of being given a golden pass into the finals by giving them 7 home games in the run home.Then you can gloat of how good a side it is once you go thru that all year,Can you imagine eagles having seven home games in a row,You'd hear the whining from Victorians across the border.But apart from that I had tigers to win by 30/40 given a home ground gives you 6 goal advantage,I thought the eagles would come out give it a shot in the first half them put the cue back in rack after trying certain things to find out Richmond's defence and also they would smother Richmond's handball game to which they Did,so all in all i think the eagles took more out of this loss than Richmond did from the win.Roll on finals

@@elando7063 again, the expert commentators that i listened to unanimously thought they were ridiculous free kicks. I think the rule needs to be changed if that's how it's being interpreted. Having said that it was a great game and the eagles will be tough to beat in the finals

Did you watch the game? Westcoast were very unlucky with the umpiring but managed to stick in it with straight kicking. That being said Richmond dominated most of the game and handled the weather far better then West coast did so deserved the win

One of the best games of the season I think we chocked in the 2nd quarter but good game Richmond and eagles two of the most skilled clubs from an eagles supporter but Liam Ryan surely has to get mark of the year

Sick of hearing WC fans complain about the umpiring. Richmond won the frees by 2 and wasted opportunities in front of goal. It wasn't the umpiring that cost WC the 5 goal lead and blocked them out of the game for 2 and a half quarters, it was good coaching from Richmond and overall, a great game.
Don't worry about them. They are probably kids. I'm a wc supporter and agree with you. Every close game always have people blaming umpiring.

@@russe19642 nice over-exageration mate. First half of the season we hardly got to see the MCG, so it makes sense we get more games at the G now to even it out. And other teams also have the MCG as their home ground, so that's why we play there a lot.

What a final series its going to be. Two titanic clashes between the top four sides and one straight kick or less the difference.
Besides the GF games, this and the port prelim are my favourite of the dynasty era
Andrew Gaff ran a good 16.7km despite the cold weather and rain his best is 17.6km which he had against the crows this year

As a neutral... To all the people in the comments complaining about the umpires, the count was 24-22 !! Technically should have been 22-22, the 2 calls on Reiwoldt for studs up and in the back whilst going for a mark were howlers 🤷🏽♂️
Im a WC diehard (was at their first training session in Dec '86) but the Tigers deserved the win. Those two decisions were abominations. But still one of the top 5 games ive ever seen.

West coast were the best team in the league at that point on top of being the reigning premiers and they sure played like it too.. If they didn't beat us that day, no team would - the 2019 flag was basically sealed with that win

That home ground advantage always seems to make the umps favour the home team just like today, Richmond were the better side by far though and the dodgy umpiring wasn't the difference

The umpiring was significantly in West Coast's favour. The Willie Rioli "push in the back" (actually was holding the ball) kept West Coast in the game. Without that Richmond would've shut West Coast out of the game then and there. There was several other critical frees such as this. The Soldo frees in the first quarter were horrible calls. As was the inconsistency with deliberate out of bounds

West Coast had two consecutive free kicks inside their forward 50 paid during the last quarter (the Willi Rioli one made me spit out my water) that resulted in goals, so the umps did their best to win it for them. The better team won.

I gave Reitwolts dive in the last quarter a 7! It was pretty solid but he didn't really extend his arms mid air.. Could have got a 9! Might need some specialist coaching from Rance during the week.

To be honest I have no idea what's going on in this sport but they all look like really good athletes. Is it more about leg strength or accuracy or endurance? For those who play are you gassed at the end of a match?
Different position require different strengths. So your midfields should be able to run all day and your backs and forwards should have good core strength and jumping ability. And yes players are spent after a game and couldn't play more than once a week.

a couple late goals to Richmond from soft frees and a missed trip or at minimum push in the back that got them over the line in this game, pretty typical really umpires are terrible at their jobs and ruin over 50% of good matches
