The buy less and better quality mentality was probably the biggest fashion change I made this year. After unhauling a large portion of my closet in the summer and enjoying sticking to a few staples, I’ve managed to avoid fast fashion more than ever before. Your predictions seem spot on, I can’t wait to see how it all pans out!
Yes I had the exact same! I feel like for years I have said “I am only going to buy pieces I love and will last” but I truly have started to do this now and for 2024 I also want to focus on buying clothing that can one day be passed down! 🔥
Nope still done with skinny jeans. Just going to dressing in my style. Style is something that can take time to cultivate. Something thats your own beat.
I’m also on the fence on skinny jeans 😂. You’re comment is very true. Over the past few years I have experimented with many aesthetics and definitely had some questionable styling moments. It is only in 2023 that I found what truly resonates / works for me personally in terms of outfits. 100% it takes time and what works differs massively from person to person!
I love that I see more and more people choosing styles they enjoy and find comfortable instead of trying to put on a persona in order to wear something they don’t even like. We are not dressing to line anyone’s pockets, but to please ourselves and marching to the beat of our own aesthetic!
i personally feel like the sportswear trend is def taking off and because sambas and jersey shirts kind of came into the second half of 2023 it still has the time to shine. it might develop a bit more bc i saw that jersey shirts were mainly in the blokecore or styled with the acubi/ribbons but i don't think it would surprise me if they started wearing skinny jeans/business casual like blazers for a more fun twist (i might try a mini plate grey skirt + jersey top + blazer to see how it goes haha)
100% - I recently saw the term ‘blokette’ describing the merg of hyper-feminine styling with ‘blokecore’ attire and I LOVE the idea. Sounds like a sick outfit you should try it 100%!! Xx
You are so spot on about quality over quantity being more in demand! I know I definitely have been shopping for this (mainly in making the transition from dressing in my early 20's to *gasp* late 20's lol).
I think a lot of it stems from the rise in sustainability and concerns about the environment but also the state of the economy! Also with the rise in thrifting, we’re reminded how well clothes used to be made 🙃 I think people want to finally put their money into things that last versus throwing it down a the hole that is super fast fashion. I hope this trend continues.

Hey, terrific video! Great choices, gave me a lot to think about in terms of what I want to adopt and what I will leave to other braver folks. I love the sheers and pastels, and want to give a shout out to people in your generation for not jumping onto the low rise jeans that designers tried to start moving again during 2023. Nobody , young or old, wants to be convinced they should be fine with accidentally and frequently showing their butt crack all over town! Keep up the good work on your channel!

So many of these have been on my pinterest boards for a hot minute. Im most excited about sheer clothing, its so ethereal ive loved it for a while now. love this video so much. I feel like next year will have so much juxtaposition with hypermasculine clothes like sportswear and academia/office wear across from hyperfeminine sheer, lacy, pastels. I think sparkly or iridescent clothes will have a resurgence, may be wishful thinking though lol. I wonder if the 2010s will come in next year more.

It's just strange to see the stuff I've worn for years and what looks straight up weather-beaten now suddenly becoming trendy. Kisses for my long-suffering aviator shearling jacket, and my rabbit fur ushanka my dad got for me 17 years ago when I was 15 and it was 'sooo uncool and too soviet'. I moved countries recently. You can guess which pieces came with me, and good that they did, too, moved from a cold-cold country to what I thought was gonna be a warmer country with milder weather. Plane landed, I exit airport, POOF, shearing gust of snow in my face. Thanks, hairy hat. Saved my ears.
I mean, I'm pleased, I've worn the same rather militaristic/sorta-Soviet style since I was a fresh new adult, so these trends mean one thing: availability. Especially in a few years when that stuff's beginning to end up in 2nd hand market again.

Totally see the “dressing more mature” becoming something not only I’ve been going more towards in the last year but also a wider trend too. However - I don’t think skin tight clothing like skinny jeans is going to be coming back - I think more fitted trousers > baggy pants will be something. Just my thoughts tho
It is crazy how many people relate to the idea of dressing more mature! I tend to agree that for the majority this trend won’t be skin tight clothing indeed. But I am intrigued to see what content crops up of super skinny clothing!

An excellent time to invest in vintage clothing, I resell to raise funds for my non-profit.
However, I really enjoyed your assessment, the fashion trends I see generationally for me, as I am a lot older than you are my love. However, look in your grandmothers closet, or find it at the local thrift store there are great designer brands from the 70's, 80's & 90's that you didn't realize are all the era's contributing to the current micro and macro trends.
I didn't really see the SKINNY jeans coming...BUT high rise, low rise, mid rise?

fashion trends always make me laugh because it’s crazy to me how much we are controlled by fashion industry.
I worked in fashion retail for a decade…
just keep your timeless staple items in your closet and you’ll be fine.
Grays, black, neutrals, skinny jeans, a good fitted blazer to your body type, some jeans ripped or clean, some good old fitted t shirts, bold or casual accessories (preferably gold plated or sterling) not cheap costume jewelry,
keep some good adidas or NB shoes, some cute versatile bags, and a great dress you can belt or low V neckline. That’s my closest in a nutshell.
No crop tops, no too sloppy bulky sweaters no leather that makes you look older
Or too young. That’s it 🤩

I think the parachute cargo pants that were popular in 2022 and earlier in 2023 are pretty much gone. In 2024 it looks like we will see a smarter, fitted version of cargo pants, rather than super baggy or wide cargos. Having said this, it of course comes down to personal preference :)

So it was in the 2000s that we rejected slim-fitting pants / clothes. Then skinny jeans came back around 2005, hitting their peak in the 2010's. I feel like we started to reject them again around 2018? Now they are potentially on their way back...let's see!
Yes, my skinniest jeans were during the punk rock days in late 70s and 80s

I was surprised how intrigued I was by mini leather shorts - Quite excited by them for 2024!! Same, the thought of wearing high waisted jeans and a crop top seems so crazy now. Omg of course moto inspired pants are on their way. I am also going for a more simple aesthetic in 2024 but with elevated accessories 🔥🔥
