it's amazing how much his sound carries at 3:58 you can still hear it ringing even as he plays the next phrase!
A beautiful rendition. Loved listening to this one in after our lead bone played as a senior feature
So incredibly musical. I just love his playing. Go listen to the Mahler 3 recording with Abbado from the Lucerne Festival. His solo in the 1st mvt is one of the best recordings of that I've heard. Just gorgeous! He just gets better and better! And the way he moves reminds me so much of a young Scott Hartman, too. ;-)
Where can I find that recording of him playing Mahler 3?
CZcams! Search Lucerne Festival, Abbado, Mahler 3.
+Indigo Bone thank you!
Bravo!, super musical, no coment!!!
1:23 When he's got the low winds underneath him on the Db. Oh man. I melted a little on the inside. It was the best thing I've ever heard on trombone. The end of that phrase, right at 1:20 is fantastic. The way the strings come in, and his sound right there are so complimentary. Excellent composition and excellent interpretation/execution.
fenomenale!
Before I get my head bitten off, i think he's amazing. I just think the dancing is unusual. If it helped me play like this i'll try it!!!
One of my favorite cadenzas of all time.
Un excelente sonido y precision.... Gracias por subir videos asi aprendemos a tocar!!!
Great performance!
He is such a fantastic player! Love his sound and the technique is superb. His playing is so lyrical and the phrasing is perfect.
He has amazing tonal quality. It's rare someone so young could have developed such a mature embesure.
Que hermoso sonido tiene este trombonista!!!
grandeeeeee...bravoooooooooo.........ciaooooooo
Este man toca con una dulzura pero a la vez con caracter... Cuando vendra por lo menos a Costa Rica. Es lo más cerca q' hay de Panamá.
A very fine performance
Bravo Jorgen, fantastic sound and musicality!!!
I hope to see and hear your recital at " Slide Factory Festival" in Rotterdam14-17 April
Woow this man definately comes from El-Dorado, goldtown. If you here his sound.. awesome.
estupendo!!!!!!!!
There's something so fascinating about his timbre. The way he ends the sound has a sweetness to it that no other trombonist can match.
Alex K. I totally agree. Idk how he does it. I tried imitating it but still didn't sound like this
Did he play the G# in 1st postition at 2:10???? That may fix my problem....
giant excpert van rijen has unbelievable technique awesome !!!!!
Do you have any idea where I could find the score for trombone and orchestra? It seems like I can only find the trombone and piano part.
qué manera de tocarte el alma
es increible
That was possibly the first picardy third that I have been ok with... on the last chord of the orchestra.
How can he play so good?
I'm not totally sure, but my guess is practice.
so, im working on movement I of this piece. Its been really hard for me to play the skips around measure 41 and 42 and just basically going from mid range or low range to high range. What types of excercises do you guys suggest for switching smoothly through the different ranges?
Practice it very slowly; work on blowing air through each note
Has he recorded this piece, along with the David, on CD?
Someone once told me it's impossible to look sexy with a trombone... I directed them to this video
skye1623 his hair always kills me and then he plays...
who are you to recommend anything of the principal trombonist of a world famous orchestra?
With your world-class taste, post some videos of you playing so we can compare...
Performed this with the Tacoma City College Concert Band.
He may be playing it in 1st. It's going to be however it sounds in tune. For him, that may be 1st in this piece.
Красиво
This concerto suits him.
beautiful! surely a clear "victory" against the lindberg-recording!!!
Lindberg's 2nd movement is better though. (IMHO)
I playing Trombone in the Eichendorffschool Fischbach
This is very good but my favorite is Alessi's rendition. I'm a sucker for the american trombone sound though.
drumchick99 Alessi has a recording?? Where?
who disliked this...you have no passion
@st0suki That makes sense
I know right ;-)
I like this guys performance better than Christian Lindberg's
check it out
That guy's just jamming bro lol
Lol, he milked it for all it was worth at 4:06. Awesome.
@Seibukan76 who stuck bees down your pants? you took this way too literally and you need to chill out. You're first comment is completely irrelevant because no one (NOT EVEN YOU since you're so keen on insulting me) will be as good as Joe or Jorgen. My first comment never implied that Joe was better. I was just saying that I preferred Joe's Grondahl to Jorgen's. Whenever I practice the Grondahl, I use Joe's recording as reference. Does that mean I don't like Jorgen, OF COURSE NOT! hes great
I wonder if dancing around helps you play better...
not really, when alessi is considered the best in the world.
it was great, but i think alessi's version is better. just a little bit. lol prolly cuz Rigen moves around too much
No it's not :P
thats a lame reason to not like it....
booooooooooooo
