Many years ago in the late 1960s, my sister was acquainted with Sonny & Cher. They were living in Encino, California, at the time--just the two of them and their little dog. I was in their home two or three times with my sister, and they were both two of the nicest people in the world--no inflated ego, no conceit. Just two very nice, down-to-earth people! What I remember more than anything else, though, is being there on the day a magazine article came out about Cher. I was sitting in their den a little apart from Cher. She was completely engrossed in reading this article, and I was completely engrossed in watching her reactions to the article. She was so cute! Every minute or so, she would say, "Oh, my gosh! He printed that!!" A minute later, she would say something similar, "And he printed that? I don't believe it!" At one point she said, "Oh, my gosh! My mother is going to kill me when she reads this!!!" Then she looked up from the article and said, "I had just come from my mother's house the day I gave this interview, and she and I had gotten into an argument, so in the interview I said some things about her that I normally would never have said. And now when she reads this, she's going to kill me!!!" I still remember this vividly and remember wondering at the time what her mother was like. Now, thanks to this wonderful video, I have some idea! What a beautiful voice her mother has!
