    “Who are you playing as”
    All of them. The show isn’t based on any game in particular, but set in the same universe. Each game has its own story and is set in a different location, such as Washington, Vegas, Boston, and Maine. The show takes place in California.
    In most games(but not all), you start off as a naive Vault dweller like Lucy, learn to sneak around and hack PCs like Norm, join a faction like Maximus did with the Brotherhood, and by the end of the game you’re an overpowered killing machine like Cooper.

      That’s pretty accurate, for anyone watching this who hasn’t played. The show nailed the sense of humor as well, making what is a post-apocalyptic hellscape actually seem like a fun place to hang out and play in. I’m building a fairly large 7-story vault currently while doing some quests for some raiders who I’m ultimately going to all kill. Meanwhile, my pet robot is waiting for me to track down a mechanical menace who it will ultimately turn out is an awkward nerd who wasn’t specific enough with their instructions and their robot army is killing everyone because they were told to “minimize human suffering”. Oh, and my main base is churning out drugs for me to sell for more ammo I probably don’t really need and more fusion cores that I definitely don’t. I have more than 80, I basically live in a better version of Maximus’s suit. I played 3 at a time where I was actually living in the city it’s set in (D.C.) so it has a special place in my heart, but it’s hard to find a bad one. Many people are partial to New Vegas because it does a really great job of emphasizing certain things-faction loyalty first and foremost, but a few other things as well. 4 is probably where it’s at if you want the most things. Build cities, recruit a cast of a dozen or so personalities who run the gamut from a cub reporter to a robot to another robot, to a robot who is kind of shunned for looking too much like a human but he lives in the biggest city and people still want him around because he solves crimes. It’s a delightful, weird-ass game universe.

    In the game, you usually start in a vault. However, what you do in the game is up to you. The choices you make change the game. You can be a Lucy type and try to be nice throughout the wasteland. You can be like Maximus and join the Brotherhood of Steel and be not so nice. Or you can be like The Ghoul and kill and rob your way through the wasteland, or anything in between. They all seem to have the “quest” to get that guys head. 😂😂😂 Love your reactions.

  • @00Spiral007
    @00Spiral007 Před 3 měsíci +7

    In the games it goes a few ways. Mostly, you are either born in the vault (like Lucy here) and grow up totally inside until some event occurs and you need to leave (fallout 3). In New Vegas, you are a courier from the wasteland, so the vault stuff is all from the prespective of a wastelander. In Fallout 4, you are alive when the great war starts, and your vault has cryogenic freezing -- when you wake up, your wife/husband is dead and your newborn is gone.
    The show IS part of the same story as the games, but the show is about 20 years after the last game event. Other than sharing the universe, all the games and shows have different cities, characters, and factions.
    The Brotherhood of Steel, the Enclave, and Vault tech all have stuff nationally, but we also have the New California Republic in this region. If this were Boston there would be the Minutemen. In New Vegas you might see the Great Khans or Ceasar's Legion.
    In all the games, you have a main mission that will complete the story (beating the game, basically). In Fallout 3, its finding your dad who was the overseer.
    The Ghoul has that joke about the wasteland having its own golden rule: you shall get sidetracked. And that happens constantly. Sometimes the game will literally have a random character run up to you, force you into dialogue, and now you have a new mission to do. But the "side quests" are always optional. You don't have to play it any kind of "right" way. You can just create a character like the sims and explore. It all comes down to the person playing, and the choices and game they want to have.

    @micmen1496 Před 3 měsíci +27

    Lucy is a brand new player learning how the game works.
    Max is a mid-level player seeing what he can get away with.
    The Ghoul is an experienced player who knows how to get away with anything.
    Norm is the player trying to find as much lore as possible.

    • @MarcosElMalo2
      @MarcosElMalo2 Před 3 měsíci +1

      Max is not a mid level player.
      Trying to classify the characters according to game levels is a waste of time anyway. You can maybe chart their ability scores for fun or if you feel compelled, but it’s not a very useful or interesting exercise.m
      Let the game be the game and the TV show be the TV show. You, the viewer, are not playing any of the characters in the TV show. You are temporarily identifying with them ( if the acting and writing is good).

    • @micmen1496
      @micmen1496 Před 3 měsíci +2

      @MarcosElMalo2 Of course these characters are from the tv show and not the games specifically, and the point is to relate to them. A lot of fallout players have found it fun to try correlating game levels, stats, & perks based on the character's actions in the show. Especially with how it relates to their own playstyles. And like you said, it's all for fun!

    The player is Lucy. However, Coop and Maximus and Norm can be considered alternative playthroughs. Or they can be seen as player companions which are picked up and changed out during a playthrough.

    • @MarcosElMalo2
      @MarcosElMalo2 Před 3 měsíci

      Nah. It’s a TV series with three main characters with different emotional needs and goals. The characters interact because their goals overlap but their needs are in conflict.
      You don’t get anything like that in the game. You don’t get the interactions in alternative playthroughs. Nor would you get it from companion NPCs.
      You can’t adapt filmed dramatic structure into game structure, at least not in the way you suggest. You could create DLC from the chactera (which I imagine they will do because $$$).
      I think it’s OK to say that of the three protagonists, Lucy has the main storyline because the strongest moral themes are being woven into her story. I also think Norm’s character role represents us as we try to answer questions and untangle the mystery. Not quite a main character but an important one nonetheless.
      But he doesn’t really have any strong moral themes like the characters of Lucy, Maximus, or the Ghoul.

  • @benn454
    @benn454 Před 3 měsíci +1

    You usually play as a Vault Dweller, so Lucy would be the player character. Maximus, CX404, and The Ghoul would be companion characters the player would be able to recruit.

    This show takes place 9 years after fallout 4. In the games, you’re the main character and get to choose your actions lol. A lot of the times when you’re focused on the main quest you get distracted by side quests or exploring.

    Fallout 2 "Native and Ancestor from Fallout 1 living in a village in California if I remember right. beeeeeeen awhile."
    Fallout 3 "Vault Dweller"
    Fallout New Vegas "A Wastelander mail person who wants revenge on a checkered shirt wearing bastard**im not gonna spoil why for people who havent played it**"
    Fallout 4 "... Kinda a Vault Dweller *LOL*"
    Fallout 76 Most people dont consider this a true fallout game. ima just say its another Vault Dweller
    ones I do not really remember is Fallout Brother Hood of Steel. if I remember you play as 3 characters and I think its like the three here...
    and Fallout Tactics. I watched my older brother play this. I do not remember anything about it really.

      The hate of 76 is dumb. There were no NPCs because it was meant to be a player world. Because there were no human survivors in that area except players released from the vault. It was a really fun game when it was released. But too many people expected a single player world, which it wasnt. Its too bad so many people decided to hate it for dumb reasons. But then again, maybe that was for the best all the toxic people left, because the resulting 76 community was pretty great

      @mikegilgenbach4840 I actually played 76 and still do lol. I just love fallout all together which is probably why 76 never bugged me. Even tho I've played the previous games.
      On that note I should probably go back and play BHoS and tactics since I cannot remember a thing about them.

      brotherhood of steel, the alive kind,
      settlers (rebuilding the land, kind of faction),

      enclave faction, or rather what remains of it in that region, not sure if it had now live npc members,
      and other not joinable factions like blood eagles (anarchistic and crazier raiders, hostile) , mothman cult (zealous cult, hostile) , blue ridge caravan company (neutral, business type), probly more, but i had not played much recently
