- The ASUS VG28UQL1A 4K monitor is an incredible IPS panel with a high refresh rate and fast response time. It has some downside of course but there is far more upside with this monitor and it will work great with next gen consoles. Its great to see so many 4k 144hz monitors coming to the market now and it has me excited for the improvements we will see to these in the next 2 years.

From looking at the back I would say no … it seems like you will have to mount it diy style

I want to pair this with my ps5 to mainly run bf5, dead by daylight, hell let loose, modern warfare 2 remastered, horizon forbidden west. Been playing on a 50 something inch tv soo the downsize is much needed for competitive multiplayer. Thank you for a well done review :-)

would love your personal opinion.. i've been on 27" 1080p 120hz for at least the last 7 years, with how far i sit from my monitors, 27-28" seems to feel pretty much perfect, i can't envision anything bigger being comfortable for my viewing range, i'm just trying to determine what the more efficient choice is, 1440p monitors at 27" or 4k 27" monitor like this one? i've read that you face diminishing returns due to PPI with 4k at 27" whereas 1440p is pretty much optimal at this physical size. I haven't had the chance to witness or see these 2 in person, what are your thoughts in terms of the quality between the two?
1440p at 27 inches will be plenty for you
Downloading and uploading the new firmware "V030" from Asus fixes the power sleep issue. Comes back on every time now

Great Review man! when I saw the black bars I was a bit worried LOL because I ordered this monitor like last week I was like oh crap NOOOO! I've been using a BenQ monitor for soo long it proably ran me like 100 and something dollars so it's pretty trash 1080p 60hz lol

@@callumyt69 I love it! amazing picture! I don't know if this is normal or not but monitor like goes black for s second if I switch to a different game or CZcams or twitch I'm guessing because it's changing to the resolution that the app or game can output. other than that its amazing!

Depends on your price point. The gigabyte M32U is a really good monitor also

This is incredible straight to point very well made video, I wanted to ask in your honest professional opinion how does compare to the LG 27GP95r ? I’m torn between the two I use it mainly for gaming on my series x fps car racing you name it and sometimes I watch movies on but can’t decide which one to upgrade to money isn’t an issue but it has to be 27 inch with hdmi2.1 and also reliability my current monitor I’ve been using since 2012 it’s a BenQ as well been serving me really well no issues at all
I haven’t used that monitor so I can’t speak to experience on it unfortunately. This is a really good monitor though.
I own this monitor for my PC and ps5, i prefer, racing, rpg and sRGB for better colors there are a few videos on CZcams that can help you calibrate this great monitor, i also have a setting for movies with great dark deep dark and contrast, i don't recommend HDR i believe it washed out the colors and blow out brightness.
If it’s washed out for HDR you need to calibrate it
is there any ghosting or overshoot or jittery motion when panning the camera? os standard mode

@@CheekyTop1 It's in 4k. Very expensive! 144hz. I needed a brand I could trust! Had a LG TV for years. Loved my TV. I returned a 1440p MSI monitor. Hated it! VG28UQL1A color palette is inferior.

Contrast ratio and color accuracy will be fine. There are a lot of wallpapers and I have no idea of the names. I just scroll through the top ones and found these.

Missing ability to make changes. Shadow boost is not accessible as well as other functions. Will likely be sending it back.
You need to turn off HDR first on the console
select the options of brightness, contrast and game visual, do you know why this happens?

My.monitor is currently connected to my ps5 not a pc and it doesn't sound very loud it's sounds like it's on lowest volume I adjusted the vol but nothing any tips?
What about the backlight bleeding or what the call it and did you have any dead pixels ?
Not real noticeable black light bleed and I had one dead pixel which I talk about in the review

@@callumyt69 They will come eventualy..I had the first 4 k asus model and it was dead pixels and hz rates not working and BLB and buggers in the screen so to say..RMa just got worse..so return it to store if you dislike the dead pixel

have you solve the sleep function issue? i also have this. no problem with monitor but its annoying since i use the displie sleep function as a means of powersaving.

Not as much as 1080p to 1440p. If you have the gpu to handle it it’s nice but not a must have.

Bit late to the game. I plugged my sons xbox series s into this. On the xbox setting screen pretty much all options say the monitor doesn't support them. I know the series s doesn't do native 4k 120hz but the panel should think thats what its getting. In fact on the xbox screen iht says the monitor doesn't even support 4k. Im in the 2.1 port with a 2.1 lead. Am i missing something
Might be the cable. I’d have to be there in person to diagnose it though. Try turning off freesync and hdr and see what that does

Perhaps, if you have hdr on with the ps5 it won’t allow a lot of the settings to be changed.

Yes it can but most games can’t run at that so it’s an eh rn
How can I calibrate this monitor with my Series X?
You’ll have to do it with the in panel settings. The Xbox menu has a calibration tool (color images) to help with this process.

How is backlight bleed on your model?
Not bad at all. Won’t beat and OLED but it’s not horrible. It’s still there though.

Hey man I am looking to buy A new 4k Monitor for my PS5 and My PC (i have a RTX 3060/i7 12kf)
My 3 Choices are this Asus monitor, Samsung G70A and LG 27GP950b
All 4k and 144Hz and can support 4k @ 120 hz on my PS5
Can anyone help me decide?

M32U or M32Q, regular G7 and this monitor would be my last choice out of the group

I am using a ps5 for some reason it will not let me access all these settings
Noticed that if you have HDR on, it won’t let you access a lot of the other settings. Once you turn HDR off, you can then adjust the settings. But you have to choose whether you want one or the other…
Personally it might be better to just play with HDR off, just got this monitor last night and am a little disappointed how HDR looked on my series X
