thanks for watching and see you all next week. 😁👍
Daniel it never ceases to amaze me about the size of blocks you deal with. Definitely a lot of firewood in one of those pieces. Stay safe. 👍TCT
It's fun with these as the 1 challenge I get is how to not get hurt. Too bad I couldn't get it up on the lift by myself.
Oh well, the safer option was to cut it in half.
Thank you for watching and commenting 😉 👍
Wooow Big Tree
Yes, it was. Luckily, the rest of it was usable for lumber.
Thank you for watching and commenting 😉 👍
@@DanielAtkinsFirewood 😎👍
My lord, you know it’s a big round when it’s a 2 man Job to get it up on the splitter with a lift!🤣 Take care Daniel!👍🏻
🤣🤣You have that right. It's been a while since I had rounds this large, so I figured I would at least try the lift 1st.
Thank you for watching and commenting 😉 👍
Nice video of you sawing and splitting that extra-large round. I’m glad you noodled it, safer to manage and safer for you too. And a good demonstration of how well-built your Wolfe Ridge 35SHO is. I hope we get together one of these times to do some splitting. Thanks for the video and your great attitude while working so hard. The Northern Lights at the end were beautiful. Thanks!
Well, Rumor has it. There is a 35ton SHO box wedge in Beaverton, Oregon. I have a few friends around the Portland area that could get something going in the next year or so if I just ask.
I will see if we can do something like what KNL Firewood did a few weeks ago for his local VFW camp ground.
Thank you for watching and commenting 😉 👍
Dude amazing work. Good music. What a big tree. Really awesome work here!
Thank you. The big rounds I enjoy working with as its challenge vs. The small medium size stuff.
Thank you for watching and commenting 😉 👍
WOW DANIEL! LOOKS LIKE THE WOLFE RIDGE BOYS ARE GONNA HAVE TO DEVELOP THE NORTHWEST EXTENSION FOR THOSE EXTRA GINORMOUS ROUNDS YOU COME UP WITH. REALLY COOL SHOTS OF THE NORTHERN LIGHTS. I LIVED IN MASSACHEUTTES FOR 16 YEARS AND NEVER ONCE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY. STAY COOL, DANIEL, PEACE...
You know Wolfe Ridge next model up has a bigger lift. So I think it's funny you would mention that.
1st time I have ever seen the northern lights. Even my son was with me watching. Something both of us will remember.

FONT SIZE (50) FIFTY = O M G - That round is HUGE!!!
Yes, it was, and it's already at its new home for later this winter.
Thank you for watching and commenting 😉👍
Daniel. Wow those are some huge rounds.
Yes, it is and makes nice firewood to heat a home, too.
Thank you for watching and commenting 😉 👍
Nice going on the big boys
Thank you. It's always a challenge with the bigger stuff.
Thank you for watching and commenting 😉 👍
Very nice work Daniel 👍. That is some pretty good size stuff man ., always enjoy watching you get it done . Thanks🍺☑️
Thank you. I enjoy messing with the larger ones as I see it as more if a challenge.
Thank you for watching and commenting 😉 👍
Tons wood in them big rounds. I thought was going to get that monster up there for min. Tons free wood on market place I got work all time here lately. I don’t think it bothers to many people that burn to have uneven rounds 14 to 18 easy to stack. Keep up the good work.
I know it doesn't bother most in length, but I like to be as constant as I can, and since most are woodstoves, sometimes length can be an issue.
I'm glad to read you got work with the new splitter, so that's good.
Thank you for watching and commenting 😉 👍
We should just bring our rounds and saws and splitters to the local gym parking lot and advertise WoodFit exercise. Ha! That a big log!
Haha. That would be funny. Wounder how many wouldn't even bother because they would "get dirty"🤣
Thank you for watching and commenting 😉 👍
Awesome video. That was a monster.
It sure was and already at its new home getting ready for winter 2025.
Thank you for watching and commenting 😉 👍
I think Wolf Ridge needs to build you a bigger splitter, seeing how you like em bigger, a lot of good wood in that round, can’t wait to get tackling some big ones myself, 👍🚜
In my case, this splitter is an overall nice size. Could it be bigger sure buts that's ok, it is a workhorse for me.
Thank you for watching and commenting 😉 👍
Daniel, nice video of the Northern Lights! They were so cool! We saw them Friday amazing and Saturday much less, but there. 3 rounds per cord, not bad. I had to noodle a few green oak rounds this week. I am not a spring chicken anymore.
Thank you, Steve. I was able to watch the lights with my son, and it's a time we both will share.

Daniel , Chris and tony on Chris in the woodyard make fun about west coast guys cutting soft wood 🪵. Walk around his yard this morning with 3120 XP with a 5’ foot bar on the chain cutting little 12” or less logs 🪵. Told him fine a 18’ foot 🦶 now for a 5 foot 🦶 bar Daniel . Like your channel buddy down to earth 🌎 with your video buddy . Great job 👏. 😊
I know, and us West Coast guys make fun of them, always cutting and splitting sticks. But all in good fun as I am thankful I have stuff here that is somewhat easy to handle.
Thank you for watching and commenting 😉 👍
We don't mess around in the PNW. Keep cuttin'!
@travisdoesfirewood with Midwest hardwood we get twice the heat per cord than west cost hardwood.
@@thefirewooddoctor you're comparing ash to locust?
When I cut pinoak I used my hoist to lift them up on my splitter
If I had someone with me, it would have gone up. In this case, the challenge is not getting hurt.
Thank you for watching and commenting 😉 👍
Time for a man's saw. Need at least a 661 with a 48in bar skip-tooth for that big Doug Fir.
That's what Brennan told me. Someday, I will have one in the meantime. I will just run what I have and be happy with it.
Thank you for watching and commenting 😉 👍
It's a shame that large Douglas Fir tree wasn't bucked into standard lumber lengths and milled up. That would produce a considerable amount of boards.
No worries there. The rest of this log is at the mill already, so this was just the butt end of things, so at least it's not all a loss.
Thank you for watching and commenting 😉 👍
Wow! That’s a big one!! 😮👍👍💪💪
It sure was. Now it's already delivered and getting ready for 2025 heating season.

My kind of rounds
Yes, they are. Have fun on your trip to Ohio Wood Burners yard.

Adkins wrestlemania firewood show😂👏🪵🇺🇸
LoL. It's been a while since I had something this last to mess with.
Thank you for watching and commenting 😉 👍
Ricks outdoors kind of. Rounds😮
Yes, they are. Compared to his rounds, mine are bud but not as dense/heavy but still a challenge to handle no matter how you look at it.
Thank you for watching and commenting 😉 👍
There was a few big rounds in that lot. You needed some slapstick music to put over the repeated attempts to get that big 'un up on the splitter.
I was looking for that but didn't see it in my editing program, so I just let it as is.
There are quite a few more logs there waiting for me, so I can't complain.
Thank you for watching and commenting 😉 👍
I got rounds like that at my house. 😂 i do 1/4s or even into 6 pieces, youre on beast mode my guy.
I figured you were gonna roll your splitter sideways or pop a hose
It's been a while since I noodle rounds just to get them split up. I didn't think about popping a hose, but that would have been interesting if it had happened.
Thank you for watching and commenting 😉 👍
@@DanielAtkinsFirewood nah man, im sure theres a bypass in there, just like in the splitting cylinder if you tried to split a knotted up chunk, with say a 6way or something and it maxed out the tonnage,
But still my guy dont strain your back, i hurt mine this year and holy cow i was off work and couldnt sit, stand or laydown comfortably for 2 weeks, and was off work for over a month.
Big log there, Dan. I’ve been watching videos of a BC logger falling huge trees. His channel in Bjorn Butler. Check out the stuff he brings down. Have a safe weekend and be good😂
Thanks, I will go check his channel out.
Hopefully, you have a great weekend as well.

@@DanielAtkinsFirewood Bjarne Butler is his channel name. The spelling is tricky. Be good😎👍
When are you going to get some big rounds to cut?😂 one round in Daniel Atkins Wood yard is a face cord‼️ Take care Daniel👊🏻
Yes, it is. I was able to the all but 1 round in the truck. Plus, it's not offton. I make noodles.

Looks like need a big block with a bigger bar
Maybe someday. In the meantime, I will just work with what I have.
Thank you for watching and commenting 😉 👍
PNW chainsaw guys think you can get by with a little saw and a big bar. No way would they be able to get away with that saw setup in real hardwood like we have in the midwest.
@thefirewooddoctor : Someday I will make it over and run saws in Midwest/ East Coast wood
@thefirewooddoctor I'd like to see some Midwest guys and east coasters come to the west coast or pnw and run there little saws and little bars in the west coast douglas fire then talk
@BrennanRaihl we are smart enough to run big saws and big bars as necessary. I run a 572xp 24in bar as my main saw. Around here we don't have the monster trees unless you get tree service wood.
You need bigger equipment to process big logs, so you don't have to handle big logs by hand. Your playing Russian Roulett w/your life & limbs. I know big equipment costs money. You have a tough game to figure out, I wish you well, your only young & strong once.
I know I need bigger equipment. Luckily, I don't run into this large of diameter stuff all the time. Most of what I cut is 20 to 35 inches and much easier to manage.

Don't put any music... it's annoying
You are the 1st person to tell me that, so I will take it into consideration.
Thank you for watching and commenting 😉 👍
@DanielAtkinsFirewood there are so many people who have depression like me (i just read the comments on similar videos). Sometimes we like to hear strange sounds like machinery, wood cracking wood burning etc... i stopped listening to the music 3 - 4 months ago and instead 6 to listen to the sound from videos like yours. So music is destroying our healing/ therapy time 🤣
