I went to buy this the other day at Lowe's. It's really good for the money, only problem is, Lowes doesn't sell any blades for it. They don't have any 14 inch blades for anything other than brick and masonry. If you want to use this for wood, expect to spend as much on the blade as you're spending on the saw itself.

This saw is intended for metal only, that’s why the wood blades for it expensive, you would need a miter saw for wood, there are saws that will do both though

I used to use the Milwaukee 14" abrasive saw, until I tried the Evolution cold cut. Not the 14", but their 10" sliding compound miter saw, works good for my situation as my shop is attached to my house, so less dust. I also switched over to the 4 1/2" metal cutting disc on my grinder for the same reasons. I was always curious about this DeWalt metal chop saw, now I know! Thanks for sharing 👍

I had the small 7.25 evolution and maybe I was just too hard on the blades I’m not sure but I got less cuts out of those than I did out of this saw, I’m sure the smaller size didn’t help with that either, I will get a cold cut saw when this one smokes on me though

Hi! Can I use 14inc metal saw tooth blade for cutting mild steel? If so, what blade can be used and does it have to be a high speed cutting blade (rated above 4000 rpm)? thanks

You would need a high speed blade to use on this saw, they do make saws that will take a low speed blade but they would be sold accordingly, I’ve seen people use toothed blades with saws like this, just check manufacture specs to make sure the saw and blade are compatible to avoid injury or damage
