The Empire was so wrong , the ball was completely in . Karolina was right. I would protest myself too. That was so unfair to give the point to Sakkari. This Empire needs to be out of WTA.
Empires are, by their very nature, concerned with overpowering others. I wouldn't want any Empire in charge of a tennis match, as that would be rather heavy-handed.
Navratilova not accepting the point at 7-6 40-40 in the last set when she could’ve had match point in Wimbledon, that is the pinnacle of sportsmanship. This is fair play... Sakkari! (1:38:16) czcams.com/video/wOn-sBCr1LA/video.html
that is not why. it is because of inconstent rulings. hawkeye is an estimation, whereas on clay the ball leaves a mark. the difference will be cause of discussion
Pliskova balls was in the line woman cannot show the mark than the umpire must make a overrule or at least repeat the point The umpire was very weak here
Dreadful confusion and all because of the ridiculous marks on clay ; should be replaced with hawk eye which while not totally accurate is accepted by all . the human eye is a very imperfect way of calling it
As a fellow Greek, I have to point out that none of my friends or acquaintances are disappointed in Maria, it was not her job to say whether the ball was in or out. The unfairness of the situation stands on the umpire who did an awful job dealing with it.
So dramatic, she’s not un umpire, she was on the other side of the court and there’s plenty of marks all over the court anyways. There’s no one to blame but the umpire. Good thing 2021 Hawkeye is happening on clay though
@@user-wg2ih9hp6g What do you mean it's not her job to say whether the ball was in or not? If she knows it is in, which she undoubtedly did, then as a sportsman she should say. Otherwise she's a cheat and has poor sportsmanship, and no honour.

@@GR27george1 it comes down to players' values/sportsmanship at this point but yeah, asking players to sabotage themselves in crucial points where judges have to be 100% focused and fail to do so is a bit much, not her job
@@mitchya7990 thats true. @@JaffarBrar Karolina has yet to win a single Grand Slam in her career(AO, FO, Wimbledon, and US Open). The closest singles GS title for her is 2016 US Open where she lost to Angie Kerber in 3 sets. She has about 3 or 4 prime years left in her so the clock is ticking.
Players only hurt themselves when they do this. Just ruins the momentum completely for nothing. Better to just argue your point and if it doesn't go your way, move on. Wasting 5 minutes for the supervisor to come down accomplishes nothing but help your opponent.

Pliskova has a right to be angry. Wow. That was obvious.
Looked in to me, either. Still, the forehand error on the next point was definitely not the umpire's fault.
The ball was way inside the line thats why they cant find a mark.
The Supervisors are totally useless. I´ve never seen one changing the decision of the Chair umpire

This is why Hawkeye is needed on clay. Clay tournaments are resisting because they don't want to spend the money.

The rule is if the umpire cannot find the mark, the original call must stand. By the rules of tennis, nothing was done wrong here.
