    Heated grips are a necessity in Iceland, & I imagine the riding season is quite similar in UK. Warmly recommended, especially for any sort of touring when you can get caught in cold/wet weather.

    • @AAARREUUUGHHHH
      @AAARREUUUGHHHH Před 3 lety +2

      For some reason, I'd never even considered the possibility of there being motorcyclists in Iceland. What are the roads like up there? Obviously you've got all the scenery

    • @parasina
      @parasina Před 3 lety

      @@AAARREUUUGHHHH some of the mountain roads are quite spectacular, as well as roads following the shoreline around fjords etc. The rest is a bit on a boring side, but there are always great views. Low traffic is probably the best trait of riding in Iceland, at least in rural parts outside of Reykjavík.
      Here's a clip of one of my favorite local roads & maybe it can give you some idea how it is -

    Damn that Yamaha Blaze saddlebags are the best for me because of how minimalistic the mounting kit is. If you're not touring or not using the saddlebags you can even easy remove it and that metal "stick" without tools needed. Currently SW Motech do have the same exact saddlebag for anyone that's looking for the same saddlebag.

    I spend an exorbitant amount of time daydreaming about motorcycle tours, both past and future. I’m obsessed with it, even though I haven’t done that much compared to a lot of motorcyclists. (Probably ~5000 miles of touring). It’s heaven to me. I can only take a maximum of 2 weeks off of work at a time so that keeps me limited. But in 10 years I retire with a pension and I can’t wait to do 1, 2, and 3 month long motorcycle tours. Maybe longer.

    Yep, you can make a naked bike to a sport touring bike by adding a few mods, it will be cheaper than sport touring or adventure bike. You just need a touring windshield plus a clip on, handlebar risers, comfortable seat and bags. This way you can get more out of your bike. Usually sport touring and adventure bikes are bigger and heavier, not made for street.

    Idk how tall you are but, me being 1.80m high, I noticed that even with rubber tank pads like yours I didn't have much tank grip as I'd like. I bought another pair of rubber tank pads (the cheapest ones I could find, no matter the model they're supposed to fir) and cut them so they'd fit in those plastic "squares" on the side of the tank (where the knees touch when you're riding it) that are in front of your rubber pads. They made a good difference on the amount of grip I got.
    Cheers!
