  • Found 1 thermostat blank, checked ops on roof found 2 ac units not running, ac#2 with low voltage breaker tripped, traced out low voltage wires and found rub out, repaired, found ac#1 with blown fuse checked all connections along with all motors all ok. Restarted checked both units all ok, then replaced contactor for ac#1, verified all ops all ok.

Had a customer who deleted the Hail Guards on new Rooftops, to save money. I told him of this black plastic mesh, he could buy, and I’d install it for free. He scoffed at that. Well we had Golf Ball to Baseball size Hail. Roof was insured, AC units were not. Combed them out the best I could, but they would trip on High Pressure on Hot Days, which resulted in a Service Call.

The 45's are fine = tightening the wires and new contactor likely solved the over-amp

That not just one rubbed wire. I just don't get the wiring quality of those carrier units. I seems to work most of the time but the visual appearance of this is quite awful. Is it so hard to to make a dedicated electric box with DIN rails, cable ducts and proper cables (multiple wires in one "sleve")? And those contactors with open contacts. 🫠
