- It’s my first time riding one of the most powerful and impressive dirt bikes of all-time, a 1981 Maico 490. Join us at the Two Stroke World Championship from Glen Helen Raceway as we check out Gary Kortz’s amazing, modernized Two Stroke Maico 490. We may even see a mild dirt bike crash when this bike gets away from Kortz. #motorcycle #dirtbike #racing #2stroke #twostroke

76 and he's still ripping on the most sickest bike of maaco angel of death 490. God bless you brother🤘🤘
Reminds me of Magoo Chandler.. he rode the paint off those beasts!
The mako 490 was an absolute beast when it was running
I have one of these but no start I think my ignition went bad, I miss riding this beast
Every bike kid's wet dream back in the day. I can't remember even ONE girl who could make me look away from one of these bikes.
Two strokes power forever👍
I've got plenty of experience on the comparatively tame 1982 RM465. These big bore bikes have a way of getting away from you quick.
I owned a Honda CR 500 absolutely brutal power. Really miss those days. Nothing compares to those big bore two strokes.
Excellent Work Maico's Best exhaust note At age is easyer to have them idle Less work
Was a smooth nice bike .
I had Kx 500 was ten times more violent .
Maico was easy to race .
I later got a Honda CR500 the best .
If you can't start it yourself you don't belong on it
My friend had one,and it was a beast to ride
I had a 1981 Maico MC 440. Wish I had kept it. Also a 1987 KX 500. Open bikes are so cool
Awesome bike man, looks mint. Btw Wtf is wrong w yall hating on the comments
Holy Moly!!! 😂🎉
That was cool that guy let you ride it. I gotta 82 yz490, 80 yz250, and 81 it175. This reminds me of the first time i rode a big bore 2 stroke. suzuki rm465 wow its fast.
If you're smart, you'll put EVERYTHING on
This was the power king in 81, but during those days of mega fast development, the Spider lost its lustre by 83, being overtaken in the chassis and suspension departments. Fun bike though.
Not the power king, that title goes to the 81 KTM 495
Oh my. More of my friends in the 70s broke arms and legs on Maico bikes. Yeah the Yz490 was a killer as well and the Cr500 but those broke traction constantly where the Maico dug in and killed you on the corners.
I had a chance to buy a very rough one in the late 80s for like 300 dollars i still regret
No boots, no helmet, no riding experience, smart move.
When in doubt give it full throttle
Dude has a roller to start the bike, but can’t slip a clutch?😅
That first trick should have been it, he’s gonna hurt himself damn.
Hold the clutch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you want me to DRIVE this????
Just
76 and can't find neutral??
absolutely no smoke, even at startup, need to run it alot richer, throw a bigger jet in that thing and richen it up
No, he doesnt. No need for it.
@@dr.hugog.hackenbush9443 there is a need for it, run it richer so it doesn't run hot and seize a piston
im pleased that wasnt me he looked cool starting it like a road racer then immediatly fell off
I owned the finest works production' bike ever made in 1981 it was just that want to sell it?
Biggest pile ive ever threw my leg over
Take it down the strip
Had several, kicking them was a bitch, if it kicked back boy did you know it.
Easy 😂😂..hope your ok old fella...
Its easier to ride if you have your shittin pants on.
Way too lean pings out
I still think the YZ490 was more of a monster than this...
Not in stock form. As delivered, the YZ was a dumpster fire. Source: I own one.
Dude can't ride
Boring.... take it out on the track
Just how stupid is this?
Very. Don't play with things you can't control.
CHEAP FAKE!!..FJB.
