Last year, LMYK - a talented female singer, suddenly appeared with the song “Unity” - the theme for the Japanese dubbed version of “The Legend of Hei” movie.
Now, her new song “0 (zero)” has been selected as the ending theme for the TV anime “The Case Study of Vanitas”. It is based on the latest work by Jun Mochizuki, the author of the popular manga “Pandora Hearts” which has sold over 5.5 million copies. This news about the theme song went viral, especially amongst the anime fans, when the announcement was made the other day.
To coincide with the premiere of the anime, the teaser for LMYK's new song "0 (zero)" has been released on CZcams today.
Compared to the previous dark artist photo which created a painting-like world, the video is white based to create a softer visual. It is a teaser which seems to truly represent the song’s title “0 (zero)” and raises expectations for the song’s release.
In addition, along with the Japanese version and an English version of the song has been produced for the anime. When the anime is distributed internationally, the English version will be used in English-speaking countries. The English version of the teaser has also been uploaded, so check that out as well.
And once again, the legendary production team Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis produced this song, creating excitement for the full-sized version. Keep an eye on LMYK, as the song will be available digitally on August 11 (Wed),
■Artist Biography
LMYK
Singer-songwriter, born and raised in Osaka, Japan to a multicultural household with a Japanese mother and a German father. While attending college in New York City, she starts writing music and performing. Her music catches the ear of legendary music producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis who offer to produce her music. Seamlessly weaving Japanese and English lyrics, she uses her gentle voice like an orchestra and makes each sound blossom as if depicting a beautiful garden. With Jam & Lewis’s artistry and masterful production work, her music creates a “New Global Standard.”
She made her debut with “Unity,” the theme song for the Japanese dubbed version of the animation movie “The Legend of Hei” released on November 6, 2020. She will release a new song “0 (zero)” in 2021.

シンガー・ソングライター、大阪府出身。ドイツ人の父、日本人の母を持ち、大学在学中のニューヨークにて音楽制作を始める。その音楽と声を聴いた世界屈指の音楽プロデューサーチームJimmy Jam and Terry Lewisは即座に自らプロデュースを申し出た。

I remember the first time I heard this song, I was watching this anime, and the ending suddenly came up, I was wearing headphones, it sounded absolutely surreal, it was such an indescribable feeling that I got when I heard it. 03:07 & 03:14 the verse “I lose myself” and Noe’s hand trying to grab Vanitas just made me about to cry. Then the last verse is 03:20 “I know I’m never alone” with the scene that Noe decided to follow Vanitas no matter what. Can they just live together forever?? 🥲🥲 Jun sensei be like : That’s too much. You’ll have many obstacles to go through with them along the way. We’ve just begun.

Like I love Jeanne but her relationship with Vanitas feel really forced and while it makes sense, Vanitas have A LOT of moments with Noé that easily can be read as romantic, like shit even Dominique have a better chemistry with Noé than Vanitas have with Jeanne (but tbf Domi is a Queen and can be shipped with anyone)
I know Jun can write better romances than what she's doing with this couple, so either it wasn't planned or she will do something with Jeanne and Vanitas that either ends their relationship or make it be way more natural than it is right now
The original MV of this song is marvelous! But this one is on another level. I love how the scenes fit the song. It's aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. Can't wait for Vanitas no Carte's next episode!

@@Krupaux 2-3 years waiting would be nice....The previous really popular anime(Pandora Hearts) of the VNC Author(Jun Mochizuki) ended like this after 26 episodes, because the Manga was not that far back then...and everyone was sure there would come another season once the Manga progresses, but it never came. The Pandora Hearts Manga finished 2015 and was the best Manga I have ever read. I really hope that at least VNC will be completely adapted into Anime.
And of course I am still praying for another Pandora Hearts Anime

I've been an anime nerd for many years but this is like one of my favorite animes of all time.... Everything is so beautiful, the story, the art, the music. ❤️🥺 I love it so much! A true masterpiece!

Of the dozens of Animes I watched(probably around the hundreds), this is the ONLY anime that I can confidently put into my S rank along Mahoutsukai no Yome (the anime that actually really got me into anime. Sure I watched Naruto before, but to this day never finished it, because it averages on 42% filler). Only closely followed up in the A+ by maybe initial D, Re:Zero (which I first actually avoided, it seemed to generic to me), and actually many isekais lately in general. As for manga/light novel, I currently read "the beginning after the end" and I swear if that thing doesn't get an Anime I will fucking DO IT MYSELF!

0:24 - 0:29 is GENUINE editing brilliance! The story book eye of the vampire Vanitas closing, cut to the blue moon, then to human Vanitas' eye opening. AH it's so good.

Edit- This song definitely does justice to this amazing anime…. I respect Vanitas no Carte as well👏👏… the plot always keeps me on end…. And the controversy between Noè and Vanitas is just a perfect mystery… the difference between Noè’s justice and Vanitas’ justice is really interesting…. And the plot on its own is unique and charming…
